Eversolo DMP-A6 Master Edition

These are exactly the kind of descriptions I was hoping for. Very encouraging!

I’m sitting here watching football with the sound off while streaming the excellent Qobuz play list ā€œPiano and Electronic Flavorsā€. I’m trying to imagine what it would sound like with your new upgrade and I’m experiencing imagery goosebumps.

ā€œniceā€ has a special meaning here in the UK:

Any opinions yet on how the LHY power supply sounds?

I don’t have mine yet.

It sounds fantastic, and so it does with the original board. In my system I hear an improvement in clarity, if you will, overall with the LHY supply. It is worth $286 to me and the install was easy, but I do lots of monkey fiddling. I’m using the A6 as a transport only, I’ve never tried the internal DAC but I’ve read it’s nice. I looked at the Pardo too, but I’m already looking like a shoe store stockroom. The Eversolo DMP A6 is a great performer and I’m still glad to have it and the LHY too.

This is the review I was waiting for. I use A6 as a transport in my headphone system and you seem to hear the improvement. I should order one.

I suppose, as time goes by, the picture between the power supply options for the A6 will clarify. It’s definitely something I would like to invest in. The idea of taking the A6 to another level really excites me but I’m really in no hurry. It sounds pretty darn good already, particularly as a streamer. There are aspects of both power supply upgrades that are appealing. I like the idea of installing the power supply internally for practical reasons, no external box and the price is almost half what the Teddy is. On the other hand there isn’t the additional heat inside the A6 to deal with the Teddy and it seems it has significantly lower noise and that is the whole point of this exercise after all.

Another option, which I am doing, is a Toroidy supreme audio grade transformer with an Ian Canada LinearPi mk2 dual linear power supply. It’s only $200 and 12 times less noise that the Teddy Pardo. It is only 0.8 uV. I don’t know if it will fit inside the dmp-a6 yet. It’s only a little more work to install. 70 times less noise than the LHY and $80 fewer = a great deal in my book. I ordered the sc pure clocks as well.

Could you supply a link?

To me on my A6 it feels only slightly warmer after it warms up and I leave it on all the time. It’s very cheap to me for what it does and I like what I know about the two PSU upgrades that I’ve seen. There will be a ton more steaming solutions for very cheap from here on. Easier to crank out a great transport.

You need 50va with 120v(for the US) primary, 2x 9v secondary. You will have to email toroidy to order. Alternatively, You could also use Hammond 1182m9 which is available at many retailers.

So the question becomes:

Fiio or Eversolo?

Darko compaires them. Not the master edition though.

IIRC it was a bit of a win for Fiio in SQ, but Eversolo had better features. he is an android user so he loved the fact that the Fiio screen mimicked his phone. I do not recall there being a clear winner. Will depend on your preferences and other components in system.

I just know @aangen has both which is why I asked.
