Hi there! My PWT did fail for the last time! Several times the drawer did not open and now it ate a disk… and doesn’t open anymore! Can I open the drawer manually to retrieve the disk? Just a month or 2 I had the disk drive replaced and now again it does the same shaait… The drawer doesn’t have small opening to insert a thin pin
I have to give up the PWT it served me right for years but I am on the lookout for a player/DAC in one unit to drive my BHK…

If the drive stops responding and a standard reboot doesn’t work, follow these steps:
- Power Off: Turn off the PST using the main power switch on the rear panel.
- Locate the Release: Look on the bottom panel of the chassis, directly behind the front panel disc drawer.
- Release the Mechanism: Insert a small flathead screwdriver or a sharp object (like a pocketknife) into the slot and engage the mechanical release by pulling it down.
- Slide Open: Manually pull and slide the disc door open to remove the disc.
*Always make sure the main power is fully switched off before performing this procedure.

I no longer have the PWT but I believe there is a small hole located on the bottom of the unit that will open the drawer. The instructions for doing this were (and maybe still are) on the PSA website. If you call them they might be able to send them directly to you.

Can you perhaps indicate were to find this hole on the turned over unit? Do I have to remove the bottom plate of the PWT perhaps?

I don’t own the unit myself but it seems like after you turn it upside down you insert a sharp object or a screwdriver at the back of where the drawer mechanism is and pull it down. The disc drawer should now be accessible to you to remove the stuck CD/SACD by hand.
Somewhere in the way distant past my brain stored that its a bad idea to not keep a PWT level and upright when it has a disk inside as otherwise the disk can come out of its sweet spot in the tray and get stuck making normal opening impossible. Words of wisdom to those fellow PWT owners trying to help by turning their units over.
If I could follow the instructions, I might turn the unit upside down. Perhaps using force might help… up till now I cannot find a proper hole to slide in to move the tray…
Perhaps on the back instead of under?!
In the mean time I use a 300 Euro Teac cdplayer which sounds better than expected
Make sense that if you turn the unit upside down it will come off the spindle and then make it impossible to remove the disc.
I would think the hole to eject the disc would be on the back or front, not on the bottom of the unit.

Thank you, but this drawer was originally in my PWT too. However, it has been replaced by a PSA dealer/importer in Belgium. (I live in The Netherlands). No hole in this new drawer…
I don’t see any hole in the image. Looks like the paper clip has to be inserted just under the tray as shown.
Re: The picture. You are right. However, my original tray indeed had a small hole which isn’t showing in the picture.
Should I just use a small pin with current drawer without the hole… hmm I’ll try (tray).

I managed to open the drawer and got my cd back again! I found a wide knife thin enough, pushed it in ‘unlocked’ the drawer. Powered up, tapped the screen and suave!
