Hello PS Audio Forum I am a new member who has a long time usage of a PWT MkII CDT. I have an operational issue develop where the CD Drives drawer does not open, it can be achieved with the paper clip method to release it. When the the CD is in place there is not a Buffer Read occur?
I am believing a new CD Drive is required, but do not understand the Buffer Read not occurring.
Any guidance that can be offered to assist with my overcoming these operational issues will be very much appreciated.

The drive may just need a new disk tray actuator belt.
Hello anabelllebachoy, I am not familiar with such undertakings, but following up on your much appreciated reply, I have checked out the options on Belts which are numerous. l take it the Belt needs removing and measuring to identify the needed replacement.
Is this a task needing the CD Drive to be removed?
I would think PS Audio could help with identifying the belt. I recently replaced the tray drive belt on a friend’s Esoteric transport and it was so stretched it barely made contact with the pulleys. At least for the Esoteric the drive requires removal though the job is not hard.
I have swapped out the CD Drive with the new Drive Unit and have also removed the original drive from its chassis and exposed the Belt. The Belt does appear to be taught and not having a slackness that would effect the drawer open/close operation.
Note, this is the first belt ever checked for tension.
