That’s more consistent with what I’m seeing. We’ll get to the bottom of it.
What is the file “dsdmk2_v2.5.1.bin” in the upgrade package for?
Yes however there is an image.bin also.
That was an erroneous file inclusion by the software that does the final bundling. It’s been removed from the zip file on the website. The image.bin is the right file to use. Apologies for any confusion.
how does it know which balance to change? I have not used it before with DAC and BHK Pre at same time.
OK… the new UI has some issues. USB power no longer turns USB power off. Not sure about i2s.
i2s polarity no longer functions. playing a 44.1 16bit displays 44.1 24bits no mater what it’s set to.
Balance does work.
Going back to 2.5.0
Ouch, can anyone else confirm? Jeff how did you test? play a device?
The USB LED stays lit no matter what I set power to. It just slowly dims on and off, repeat. (this is what 2.5.0 does when it’s set to on. Setting it to auto in 2.5.0 turned this LED off.)
I had to go back to 2.3.6 then to the original 2.5.0 to get it to function again. It seems just loading 2.5.0 doesn’t fix ether of the issues reported above.
i2s polarity did nothing in 2.5.1. The display always displayed the wrong bit depth. 44.1/24. Stuck on 24bits.
I would recommend staying on 2.5.0 for now until these issues are sorted out. If you loaded 2.5.1 you need to go back to 2.3.6 first then to 2.5.0 .
In my opinion USB power and a proper working i2s is more important than balance.

Hi @tedsmith, I’m a bit dizzy… if I’m 44.1/16, is it wrong or right? 
And how do I access that menu to invert I2S if I need to? I can’t find it.

44.1/16 is right. Go to “Audio Input” (Just past the version screen), then to “I2S Polarity”
I’m a bit confused. When Denafrips had this issue I helped solve it. Here it seems no one believes it’s an issue. Instead it’s made worse. At this time Im throwing in the towel.
After 2.5 My usb input shows 16bit now matter what I play.
I just checked mine and it is properly showing the bit rate via the USB input.
Connected directly to an Intel NUC running Roon ROCK.
Running 2.5.1.

I wouldn’t take one person asking, probably out of curiosity, as “no one”. I read your post and decided to stick to 2.5.0 and not waste my time. So thank you for your insight!
Decided to go to 2.5.1 since I don’t use USB inputs. I realize I may be in the minority, as I’m not testing USB, but everything else seems to be working right afaict! Thx Barry!!
