A fine 1963 Roost Stan Getz compilation LP in NM condition sounding mighty fine and welcoming me back to the cooler climate of the Midwest following a short Florida jaunt.
Craig, your mention of Charles Wuorinen has me digging through my collection trying to locate my Nonesuch Charles Wuorinen LPs. With time I’ll remember how I filed them, probably with my mid-20th Century Experimental LPs.
Is this the recently reissued Analog Productions LP?
oui.
I just may pick-up a copy.
I’m sure you’ll like this one.
Starting off this second warm morning with some Bill!

Second listen to this excellent cd.
The first Mingus Dynasty recording, Chair in the Sky, following Charles’ death in January 1979. A spirited performance with many Mingus associates joined by Don Pullen, Charlie Haden, and Dannie Richmond. Don Pullen is especally strong on this release.
The cold is back, with a little snow, sigh. I’m fighting off a cold–just like the last time she was sick, Lucinda is finally feeling better, and I’m coming down with what ailed her.
Starting off with

When I first spun this one I was a little disappointed, but that has turned into regarding this as a fun disc.
On to
Art Pepper “The Hollywood All Star Sessions” Galaxy 5 cd set, disc 5
I haven’t listened to Folk Songs for ages, and have forgotten how peaceful the introductory song, Folk Song, is. Perfect start to the day.
This is the second release from Chamber 4, recorded live in Paris. Dense, complex music, very nice indeed.

A beautiful album.
Cold, snow on the ground. I keep telling myself old Phil did not see his shadow, and we’re springing forward tonight.
