Hank Roberts Black Pastels recorded in 1988 and reissued on the Winter & Winter Label in 2002. The CD ensemble features Hank Roberts, Tim Berne, Bill Friesell, Mark Dresser, Dave Taylor, Ray Anderson, Robin Eubanks, and Joey Baron. Regarding Bill Friesell on Black Pastels, his playing exemplifies a sense of adventure as well as strong technique. An excellent work including Friesell.
