Are you happy with the sound of the vinyl?

I find it to be fine, sounds slightly digital to these ears.

Mid afternoon listen to this Black Saint LP from 1982, World Bass Violin Ensemble BASSically Yours. The ensemble features Brian Smith, Rufus Reid, Fred Hopkins, Phil Bowler, Greg Maker, and Bob Cunningham. The bass sextet is joined by Rick Rozie and Thurman Barker. Possibly only a recording a bass- head would appreciate, but nice melodic ensemble playing. Additionally it is a true test of one’s system to distinguish between multiple bass players/ Hearing this I believe my speakers are placed appropriately from the rear and side walls, only requiring height adjustment and possibly minor toe-in.

Sun Ra The Eternal Myth Revealed Vol. 1, an overview of early Herman Blount, aka Le Sony’r Ra, by Michael Anderson. A bit more academic in presentation than I had anticipated. After investing in listening to 10 of 14 CD’s I find it interesting, but not essential Sun Ra.

Finally received my copy of Weather Report Live in Berlin 1971. As I now listen to side A of it I must say it is exceptional, and fans of early Weather Report are certain to be pleased with the performance. The sonics are excellent as well. I’d like to continue listening but am off to a very short hike at Starved Rock State Park.
