Recently reissued by Craft Records, second listen and Thus one gies to the top of the stack.
Joe, Herbie, Mike, Ron and Jack in fine form.

Starting the day off with some new Lateef.
Yusef Lateef “Atlantis Lullaby–The Concert from Avignon” disc 1
Followed by
This beautiful work.
Mary Lou Williams “Black Christ of the Andes” Smithsonian Folkways cd
Gene Ammons “Greatest Hits: the '70s” OJC cd

Followed by
Art Tatum “Jewels in the Treasure Chest” disc 2

This morning is nice and cool and Fiona is feeling feisty. We bobbed along around “the block” with a flashlight even before the songbirds were talking. This is a wonderful time of year.
Starting off with a new arrival:
Cannonball Adderley “POPPIN’ IN PARIS: LIVE AT L’OLYMPIA 1972” Elemental Music cd

This one is all about George Duke so far!
We should have had Cannonball much longer!
Followed by
Nat King Cole “Live At The Blue Note Chicago” Iconic 2 cd set
Culled from TEN HOURS of recordings, this two cd set is great fun for Cole fans. Sound is decent enough. John Collins and Lee Young on board–which are definitely factors that made me make sure to corner a copy of this and luckily it wasn’t too hard.

Starting a cool morning off with another interesting session Tom Harrell participated in, with a sort of Spanish tinge of Weather Report like fusion, led by guitarist Tarres.
Fernando Tarres featuring Tom Harrell and Arida Conta and the Sirius String Quartet “Secret Rhythms” Muse cd

Followed by
Theo Hill “Interstellar Adventures” Posi-Tone cd
Hill’s second album with Rashaan Carter and the excellent drummer Rudy Royston.

Blue groovin’ this morning.
Jack McDuff “Ain’t No Sunshine” Reel to Real cd 1

Followed by another Reel to Real release
Shelly Manne & His Men “Jazz from the Pacific Northwest” Reel to Real cd 1
Two killer performances, one from the Monterey Jazz Festival, the other from the Penthouse in Seattle. Great bands.

Jack McDuff “Ain’t No Sunshine” Reel to Real cd 2

Sounds nice and dynamic on my system. Waking me up on this cool morning Sunday.
Jack McDuff – Hammond B3 Organ
Leo Johnson – tenor saxophone, flute and clarinet (left channel)
Dave Young – tenor and soprano saxophone (right channel)
Vinnie Corrao – guitar
Ron Davis - drums
*trumpet player unknown
Chesky LP of McCoy Tyner Quartet Reunion. A “Super Quartet” IMO with Joe Henderson, Ron Carter, and AL Foster all in fine form. The LP sounds nice as well.
