This thread reminds me of the first time I made a connection between the time of day and the kind of music I wanted/needed to hear. I was a freshman in college, and the last thing I listened to the day before was Alice Cooper’s “Love It to Death” LP. Since it was still on the turntable when I got up the next morning, I just started playing it again. I remember thinking, “this may have been a mistake.”
I’m not sure that this counts as listening but every day starts and ends with classical NC WCPE or CA KDFC as the background of my life.
Pulled this one from the shelves to start the day.
Duke Pearson “The Phantom–featuring Bobby Hutcherson” Blue Note/Universal Japan SHM-CD
I have the Water Records cd reissue of this title as well, they both sound very good.
Ah yes FM early morning listening. For me it was one of the five weekday classical music morning programs offered from 5:00 - 8:00 AM via Madison’s WORT. An eclectic morning mix vice waking to dreary morning news on NPR etc.
“Antonio Carlos Jobim Songbook Vol. 4”
I, too, take a pass - no pun intended.
Even the commercials have been less than interesting in recent years.
My plan is to settle in with a book.
An ideal time to go out to dinner. Guessing most non-sports bar/restaurants will be slow.
I returned a bit ago from a late lunch/ early dinner and ran a few errands. Very quiet.
