foobar2000 Mobile - public beta

Just in case you want to play with some beta software: https://hydrogenaud.io/index.php/topic,111791

No playlists yet.

Populating the library can take a bit.

It uses the Windows audio output device.

Without a touch device some scrolling is tedious (at least for me.)

Spoon just posted:

In there he mentions that the beta forum for foobar2000 mobile is now open to the public and that the public betas of iOS and Android versions are coming.

iOS public preview is ready.

They aren’t controller apps, they are players. But on the other hand I can use it to play from a Windows 10 machine/phone to anything Windows 10 supports for audio output.

Sorry, I’m not a fan of UPnP user interfaces and can’t really help.

I’ve used remote desktop to control foobar2000 configured normally. I’ve also used foobar2000 on a laptop (which could have been a pad) which was wirelessly reading files off of another computer and sending them wirelessly to the Bridge via a network bridge. But these are both sort of kludges - I can’t say I really recommend trying them if you aren’t already comfortable setting them up.

Ted,

Have you tried Monkeymote (IOS) for Foobar as an alternative to RDS?

No, I’m not really interested in trimmed UIs. For example it really bugs me when I can’t use my canned filters or simply type the kinds of ad hoc queries that I use regularly in foobar2000. Also my laptop screen is 3840 x 2160 and I’m kind of used to it

adriaan said Okay clear. Do you know any other good controller apps besides mconnect to stream from Foobar/MinimServer to the DirectStream over the network? fyi Plugplayer is also not reliable...
Creation 5 media player works on my iPad to control music from MinimServer on my NAS. Unlike mconnect, it remembers the library and renderer you used last time -- I get annoyed at having to reselect every time with the former.

I ended up buying a cheap Android tablet in order to use Bubble UPnP, which is definitely the best controller out of the many I have tried.

I think currently, the only [useful] android player is USB Audio Player PRO.

Some weeks ago I compare it [Good battery’s powered Asus Android Tablet with OTG USB adapter to PWD] to a my PC’s USB, I didn’t notice the difference in sound quality …
