The other Paul, @paul172, might contend I really haven’t lived unless I have an REL sub six pack.
He might be right, and those who say the FR20’s do the trick on the low end, might be right. I’m cool, for now, in the middle.
FR30 has produced amazing bass in my room, hence I have not had any desire to get the subs. Will C214 be helpful? it may, but at the volume I am listening often (I am not the boss at home) there is no need to any bass adjustment, yet.
But at lower volume (70 dB or lower), the treble/mid is crucial for me to enjoy the music, and I have it!
I have one sub, and am happy with the one sub with the FR20’s.
I might move my speakers farther apart again. There is a bass boost with the speakers closer together that I am thinking I prefer to not have. Plus, I like the wider soundstage with the speakers farther apart.
If you want to hear the best bass from FR line, you need to try Stack Audio AUVA 70 or 100. AUVA 70 probably looks better with FR20.
The AUVA 100 does wonders on the FR30, as you know.
Yes, the C214 would help, even at lower listening levels. The biggest benefits for me has been image stabilization and much less annoying time delay and standing waves that create ear fatigue.
Help a lower frequency and you help all the higher ones up the scale.
Sounds good! It is on my list after amp and another power cord one of these years.
One sub, stock power cables, nowhere to go but up for you! Lol
