FR20 vs FR30

The other Paul, @paul172, might contend I really haven’t lived unless I have an REL sub six pack.
He might be right, and those who say the FR20’s do the trick on the low end, might be right. I’m cool, for now, in the middle.

FR30 has produced amazing bass in my room, hence I have not had any desire to get the subs. Will C214 be helpful? it may, but at the volume I am listening often (I am not the boss at home) there is no need to any bass adjustment, yet.

But at lower volume (70 dB or lower), the treble/mid is crucial for me to enjoy the music, and I have it!

I have one sub, and am happy with the one sub with the FR20’s.
I might move my speakers farther apart again. There is a bass boost with the speakers closer together that I am thinking I prefer to not have. Plus, I like the wider soundstage with the speakers farther apart.

If you want to hear the best bass from FR line, you need to try Stack Audio AUVA 70 or 100. AUVA 70 probably looks better with FR20.

The AUVA 100 does wonders on the FR30, as you know.
Yes, the C214 would help, even at lower listening levels. The biggest benefits for me has been image stabilization and much less annoying time delay and standing waves that create ear fatigue.
Help a lower frequency and you help all the higher ones up the scale.

Sounds good! It is on my list after amp and another power cord :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: one of these years.

around 46” from the ground to middle of the tweeters for FR30 in case someone else wants to know (pm akro already).

that would be about 6 inches above my ear level

The tweeter height of the FR20 is such that I can keep the speakers level and have the tweeters directly at ear level.

What some of the FR30 owners do is to change the bolts at the rear to longer bolts ( I got them from Amazon). This way the rear of the speakers could be adjusted higher so the tweeters are facing the listeners better. Lately my preferred seating is way back (20’ plus) at my desk so I can do other things. The system sounds nice even when I am not close to the sweet spot.:wine_glass:

My two favorite listening chairs are about 5 inches different height…fun to switch, no regular preference…I have FR20 and dual subs…

What is your ear height in relation to the tweeters from the different listening heights?

what is the case width of the FR20 and 30?

Do you mean the front panel width? FR30 is 10” wide.

To answer your next question, it is 24.5” deep measured from the back edge to the front edge.

Yes

PSA number includes stand

I think 20 and 30 have same width

FR20 is 10” wide x 17.375” deep
