Happy cake day @WATChad
How’s she doing?
Hoping you are back with Winnie Cooper tomorrow and you are both doing well.
Something like that. LOL
Got her home. She’s recovering. Man, it sucks not really knowing what her pain level is like.
Taurus reportedly belonged to one of Lightfoot’s road crew. He and the singer are said to have bonded on tour, and Taurus would wait for him at stage-side during each performance.
The kind of tour where the road crew bring their dog appeals to me
Now if that isn’t a moment I don’t know what is.
The ultimate loyalty of a man’s best friend!!!
I owned two Akitas and they are truly a extremely loyal breed…

12 of these panels for about $66, will attach to this cardboard for experimental placements
I learned about Hachiko when watching someone’s video about going somewhere in Tokyo and the host passed by the statue of the dog and told the story.
Update…
I made 2 panels, each 40 inches by 60 inches and placed them behind speakers resting vertically on the floor as shown in picture below.
A subtle improvement, whether blinds were open or not. A definite no-no was to simply use one of the panels in the center. Focused sound towards center.
However, in view of other considerations, mostly the blocking of the big window, I may not use them at all. Fortunately, it was a cheap project.
Sadly, other ‘other considerations’ places the electronics stack behind the left speaker, somewhat truncating the left stage though far from completely.
More experiments no doubt. Perhaps if the panels are raised, the benefit will be more obvious. Who knows.
BTW, distance between tweeters…95 inches, just short of 8 feet. Distance from tweeter to ear about 107 inches, or about 9 feet. TV monitor is to see McIntosh settings. I prefer blinds closed…the superb view of woods is distracting for listening.
Sound advice always appreciated. (sound has 2 meanings here)
akro, had you said at one time what is on the side of either of the speakers?
Nothin much, left wall about 15 feet away, 4 ft right of right speaker to doorway to kitchen
Is there just a doorway on the right with a wall on that side too? Or is one side open and the other not?
rooms in the real world are challenging
A most difficult situation indeed. I have struggled with a similar set-up, and the best I could do was pull one speaker closer to the listening position and toe it in. This was the speaker adjacent to the opening.
This is almost as bad as one of the rooms I’ve used in the past. weedeewop’s advice is good, maybe give it a try. Also, if there’s any way you could move the equipment to the left wall I think it will also help.
Left wall has fireplace in corner and doorways
Have moved electronics stack to outside left speaker
I get great sound, stage, and depth AND performer positioning when recording engineers present it
I simply wanted to test front wall diffuser and show final product I posted a couple days ago of DIY panel
