Done a long time ago. All Dragon All the time!
Maybe @Elk could do a little housecleaning for us. Lol
This technology is pretty interesting.
No active circuitry, just a harmonizing of the electrons in the current through the use of metallurgy.
I just picked some Pangea cables for my future PowerZone.
Power cord selection for PZ are what we are discussing here😆
Better yet it works!
As long as you aren’t using Pangea lol
I will get a Pangea Clone to tryout maybe🤔
Still curious to know which is the component that benefits more from PZ.
I’ve got the concept that ALL units sound better once plugged in it and the best results are achieved by using the PZ feeding the entire system but out of curiosity which one is the winner in your opinion?
I’m asking to all of you lucky guys who will soon receive this precious toy, please would you like to share with me a little slice of cake? Interesting to compare your different opinions in different systems on this particular argument.
I have a feeling that the amp(s) and pre (or DAC if you go direct) will be the favorites, the last analog part of the chain so to speak.
Is next week the D-day for you?
My guess is another week at least for delivery. My simple system requires only four outlets and I cannot conceive doing anything other than plugging them in and that’s that. Given the PZ is a passive device and supplies all the current from the wall, component “matching” does not seem to be an issue.
For us that still have a regenerator, like the P20, I’m curious if a PZ would shine even brighter hooked up to it. My uneducated guess is…no.
That’s the way, I know.
Just curious to try, before that final and obvious step, one component at a time plugged into the PZ and the others as usual. Sorry for asking something that apparently doesn’t make sense, maybe Donald can understand my request coming from the Puritan which gained general consensus working best with DACs, no matter the system in use.
Agree, another interesting test. Enjoy the experiment!
I’ll compare PZ to Puritan where all my sources are (5 units) before I plug the amps into PZ. In my system this setup sounded the best (Puritan does not have enough plugs for all components but PZ does).
I’m most interested to know if PZ can match Puritan with MU2 since it should benefit the most from a quieter background.
I like when you are around. Fun!
Good lord! Push all that stuff aside and get down on it!
That stuff will flee from your mind so quickly it will surprise you.
Pedal to the floor!
To INFINITY and BEYOND!
(it will seem nicer)
Luca is thinking too much! I’ll do this evaluation just for him. But I have a feeling I’ll tell him go plug everything into PZ. It’s all good😆
Answer? All of them! On my system the PZ it benefits all source components but with the proper power cable the sources follow the hierarchy of physical media. Best vinyl, second CD’s, third streaming all sound better than ever! On the P20 with Stealth Sakra the Ethos is king w/CD’s and streaming tied with Vinyl a close second. On my system with PZ records are astonishing as is the CD playback and streaming but records with no doubt sound the best and on most systems with all 3 vinyl is king!
Going back to my proper cable statement. Shunyata Sigma V1 NR Ethos wCD and Streaming almost equal from what I could hear advantage CD both better than vinyl. Audioquest Dragon 20a HC Vinyl first, CD Second, Streaming 3rd. All sound better than ever all very addictive, with PZ records present the most detail and sound the best IMO. @luca.pelliccioli you won’t suffer at all with anything plugged into it.
After you plug everything into the PZ the first words will be I’ll now compare it to Puri-what? Don’t bother with it at least with 5 different sources it won’t be worth the comparison but that’s my opinion of course. It’s so obvious right out of the box the comparison won’t need to be done disconnecting and comparing both Puritan and Powerzone.
Have the powerzones come in yet? I’m going thru withdrawals!
They are on their way to Kyomi I believe. They were/are in stock in the US which helps/
I am of the opinion that all changes that you have forgotten the next day or are at least not obvious are not worth the effort and, above all, often associated with high costs. I agree with Al and Paul if there is a wow effect straight away and it lasts for the next few days, a comparison is almost unnecessary. Assuming that wow likes it. I have just received my new old used Audioquest Dragon source. I save the burnin. (It is an original one. The seller sent me the proof of purchase and even signed it with the date that he resold it to me on eBay.) I am very satisfied, it looks like new. The cloth for polishing silver is also included and still packaged. Back to cable again. The mixture makes the result. Don’t worry, Hurricane is a good cable. At the moment I think a Dragon source is enough. Compared to the Furutech it is less warm. The bass is a little more reserved. As requested by me. Openness, details and a slightly brighter tone are the first things I notice. Very nice. Donald maybe Furutech ncf bring a bit more blackness and a bit more earthy sound. The Tornado benefited from the NCF plugs and therefore sounded more mature. At that time I only swapped the female C13 for testing. An NCF at the cable exit could be enough and make the HF foil rings unnecessary.
Maybe Dragen with NCF connectors sounds a little more like Zenwave PSR sound? Even blacker and the sounds more graduated, more controlled… I think I should try it. Unless Donald beats me to it.
The Powerzone it perhaps works like NCF and provides blackness and therefore sounds are clearer, more graduated. The Furutech Top power distributor is supposed to have such an effect. But it’s also damn expensive.
I would be interested to see what effect you notice with the Powerzone.
Greetings Andreas
You better take the AQ talk to the [AQ Dragon thread]
Al is going to get upset.
Once the Powerzones arrive Dragon talk will be here on this thread will be taking up valuable space.
