Gryphon PowerZone the hype is real!

The newer generation of plug-in enhancers are better indeed. I was surprised the Labahua did better than Puron because Puron has many positive reviews.

It is a Chinese (HiFi Audio?) company that sells it, and AliExpress is the only place has it I believe. It got great reviews there.

45 bucks?

Mmm…. interesting observation.

If the GM is ineffective when connected to the PowerZone’s ground lug, could be related to the inherently great work made by the PZ itself.

Do you think that grounding the components of the system to the PZ (ground lug) can bring some improvement? There should be a reason if Gryphon added a ground lug on it.

Worth investigating more deeply on this arguments… or simply enjoying the music with a big smile on your face! Life’s too short!

I may have spoken too soon. I left City plugged longer (10 minutes) and the sound has improved. It is still subtle, unlike the plug-in enhancer that I heard right the way.

Initial impression during break in is not to be trusted. I’ll listen more after golf tomorrow.

$45 to $50 plus tax I believe; worth a try!

Donald, I don’t know what’s in the Powerzone and whether there’s also a Hafner module for the earth conductor internally that cleans the earth. I could imagine it. If you now connect all the components to the Groundcity and also connect the earth connection of the Powerzone to it, it could be that you are bridging the function of the Powerzone. The interference that the components and cables behind the Powerzone cause and capture would be sent back into the earth conductor in front of the Powerzone and thus have more interference than without. Perhaps a separate earth rod would be necessary for this. Or the connection is intended for an earthing box.
There’s nothing in the instructions, if not, perhaps the manufacturer can say something about it.
I was advised yesterday against diverting interference into the earth conductor. But that wasn’t about the Powerzone.
Greetings, Andreas

You could be right. I don’t remember PZ menu mentioned much about grounding, it’s another thing I need to check.

I have two, but only use one since there is only one spot left on PowerZone. I use the other one for Puritan which serves HT now.

Have you plugged the Ground City into a free socket in the power zone?
If so, I would try plugging the Grand City into any socket in the wall. I wouldn’t plug it into the power zone.
I wouldn’t put a Puritan filter in the Powerzone either. It could cause other things that aren’t intended for the Powerzone.
But practice makes perfect.

I have too many things plugged into from everywhere to confuse everyone

The plug-in Hifi Audio enhancer is plugged into the last socket of PZ.

A GroundMaster City is connect to PZ’s ground post from the wall. All other components are connected to a separate GroundMaster with a separate GM City to another wall socket.

Is that clear as mud?

Don’t forget to throw a couple of these on top.

Got one of these, also.

Bought in on sale at a pretty deep discount a while back; and can’t say I heard much of a difference. How about you?

Had one, sold it, and do not plan to buy it again.

Any more “must” add-ons to a unit that has moved the bar do to its simplicity (and it isn’t even broken in yet) seems…weird.

Well, an upgrade that is just hot air. The name says it all. I thought I could save a lot of money with it.

It’s a joke I’m just having fun.

Donald hasn’t mentioned what effect other feet have under his powerzone. That surprises me since he seems to have the most feet.

I have three Orea spared now you mentioned it. I considered grounding devices and plug-in conditioners are necessarily, not add-on😆

Now stones on top and bottom, plus nail polish are add-on hit-and-miss for sure.

I knew you were being facetious. Those other guys :man_shrugging:t2:. I’m all for optimizing stuff. But too many cooks and ingredients can spoil the offering.
Maybe I’m loosing audio acuity but I don’t know how you can keep all these extras straight without an established bass line and one change at a time.

That’s the fun part🕺🏻 I’m establishing a baseline along with the break-in. Of course these add-ons can be easily removed and reevaluated later to establish a new baseline.

Oh, did I mention I also tried with different AQ Dragon cords in the system too? I need to get all these done before my vacation next week, and played two rounds of golf before that too.

After vacation I’ll review all my evaluations, again.

You are going to hear an improvement every day for at least a month even if you plug a Glade Air Freshener into it. Give the poor PZ some time to enjoy its new home!
