The iFi AC iPurifier is interesting. Ultimately it is not the best fit for my main system, but it does have an effect.
Donald could you provide a brief summary of its effect, TIA.
It does everything Puron does, but what it did to the midrange is amazing. Billie Holiday appears in the room singing instead of hiding behind the curtain.
With just one plugged into your PSM 156.
I think you suffer from EAE, Donald. Enduring Audio Enthusiasm. Don’t you know that the true
measure of audio improvements are directly related to how much you spend?
I enjoy cheap thrill occasionally too; especially when I found a gem in a pile of rocks😆
Plug it at the nearest receptacle to PC to the wall. I still have one Puron plugged into P15 too. But I found both are more effective with source components (w/ Puritan) than amps (w/ P15).
I have a 2nd one coming in a few days anyway.
The Panasonic might sound like a MU2 with the powerzone.
I don’t know if these noise scrubbers are akin to the Shunyata Venom Defender. I still use one on my TV power block. I remember, over a decade ago, that it seemed to make a difference.
I know there is a lot of filtering schemes in the signal and power domain and some have taken me closer to the music, and some have taken it away. Creating a blacker background but at the lose of openness. Dull.
I’m just trying to keep it simple, enhance the fundamentals, lessen the do-dads. I admire those who
try the new stuff and sometimes find temporal gold in the cheaper stuff. Keep on trucking.
Indeed, I will leave it in the system for a couple of weeks, then listen without it. This little thing does more than Puron, and that surprised me.
yep! That was where I ordered. Give it a try and let us know what do you think!
I just made a decision: 3 month rule!
I can only consider audio stuff after 3 months, both the stuff I have in use (to keep or not to keep) and the stuff I’m reading about from others (to buy or not to buy).
My previous standard was: 3 minute rule!
So goodbye everyone, see you around Christmas!
You are not serious! No one can jump from 3 minutes to 3 months; that would be an eternity! You know you need that early Christmas gift in October.
Once PZs are here there will be 1M reviews on how great it is!
In fact, you should order one now. I always enjoy reading your dithyramb, and often my wallet is much thinner after reading it.
Sometimes it’s better to wait for the first euphoria. I would be interested to see what the PZ looks like from the inside and what it does. Maybe it’s not so revolutionary and there are other alternatives. The power filter from Progressive Audio is also not to be despised. Other solutions were not enough for the developer and often these only covered part of the problem. The Progressive has the best Furutech outlets, it generates a new sine wave and takes care of grounding issues. Maybe it really does combine all the functions, as the developer complained about in solutions that are available on the market. I haven’t been able to listen to a Gryphon powerzone yet. I have already experienced the Progressive audio in use several times. Dynamics, silence, precision. Voices and instruments have their own place. Everything very orderly. The soundstage is large, dynamic, detailed. The large Audioquest filter, on the other hand, sounded lifeless and obscured. By the way, the progressive audio can be switched to all voltages. 1KV and 3KV models available. Visually it’s not the prettiest, but the effect can’t be ignored. Greetings Andreas
Hi Andreas, thanks.
Anyhow I’m not searching for alternatives, just waiting…
Once you hear the PZ for yourself, the “why” is no longer relevant. The magic you will hear is all that matters.
I experienced the progressive audio filter with impressive presentation. I would like to hear from both who can spread more magic.
Oh wait, I don’t actually have a modem or a pink fuse. I guess it is the Powerzone after all. Sorry.
I’ll sell you my P20 and you can start powerzone alternative search with that!
Of course I’m going to have to try it. Will be plugging it into my Puritan 156. I have two unused outlets so maybe I should try two of them.
