Philippe J saidI use the Audioquest coffee, and it works great in my system.
I have both an AQ Vodka and Coffee cable at home. For some reason the lesser priced Vodka sounds better than the Coffee between the DMP and DSD. Why, I do not know.

Yes, the Wireworld Platinum HDMI are expensive but so is the Direct Stream Dac / Player combo. So, well worth the extra investment IMHO.
The recordings I have made using the analog outs from the Player/Dac are better than the SACD counterparts played on other Dacās.
I am very pleased with the results.
I did do a little tweaking however. I added SR ECTās and Bybee IQSE inside and added SR Blue fuses and Furutech power cords FPS-4 with Furutech Nano connectors. And, I have both units sitting on top of 4 Stillpoints Ultra SS. They are all plugged into a Core Tech balanced power conditioner with Furutech nano ac outlets all into a dedicated digital line.

Did you mean DPS-4 power cords? That wire looks very interesting. . . I bet those are great power cords.
For a cable TV box to Oppo 203 (to DS via coax), Iāve found the stock PSA HDMI/I2S cable makes a substantial improvement over a Monoprice cable, but does not match up for the video run ( 203 to TV). Thatās using the Jensen filter mentioned several posts back.
You guys convinced me , A 20 inch length of WireWorld Platinum Starlight 7 Cable is on its way to me ,
Bluenose,
Did you get your Wireworld platinum yet?

I just replaced the DPS-4 with the new Cerious Technologies Matrix power cord. It is still breakin in (40 hours so far).

Ozzy , not delivered yet , I added a custom order for their platinum starlight silver cable for my new headphones though the dealer informs me I should see it next week , Looking forward to it
Any updates on HDMI cables?
I just bought a DMP + DSD
Hey Rob. You can start with the hdmi provided with your DMP. Some here really like what it does in their systemsā¦
I have the WW platinum hdmi .03M cable. Itās outstanding!
Does the HDMI specification factor in to the cable use for I2s with a DS Jr. Would a v2.0 HDMI cable function differently than say - a v1.3c or v1.4 HDMI cable. I have some nice older cables Iām going to try once my Small Green Computer / Sonore Ultra Digital converter arrives (converts & splits USB output to SPDIF coax output and I2s over HDMI output).
Curious if it makes a difference.
HDMI cables definitely sound different on our equipment. Seems the higher the bandwidth the better it sounds but it also seems to be sensitive to geometry of the cable too.
I used the OEM cord and repurposed this to Apple TV.
I sourced a Shunyata Venom, which seems good. I only say āseems goodā since I have not went Nordost for this as I donāt see any reason to pay more then I did with the Shunyata and truthfully the player with DSD sounds amazing, especially with the RedCloud upgrades and the recent transport upgrade.
No doubt you finished things off with your power and tweaks, good stuff!
Hi Paul, replaced the older Harmonic Tech 1.3c HDMI cable with a new Blue Jeans Cable Belden FE-28 Platinum rated high-bandwidth HDMI cable. The DS Jr I2s sounds fantastic with it. Thanks again for the insight.
Here is what I use between my Matrix D-to-D converter and the DS:
It set me back a whopping $12.00 USD, but it was worth it, as it sounds spectacular!
Hello -
Went from the stock HDMI included with the Memory Transport to a Shunyata Venom, a push. I forgot all about this cable during cable upgrades and just upgraded to a 2M Nordost Heimdell 2, and extremely happy with the results. No problem with the length.
It truly opened this player up bringing the clarity in range with snap. Power cable is now by Ansuz A2 with Darkz DTC mechanical isolators.
This works for me and doesnāt require selling a kidney.
Iām finding improvements with 18Gbps-capable cables. These support the highest resolution and frame rate and have to reject more EMI for the signal to survive. Need not pay much. But I already had a couple left over from video projects.
