Help connecting Airlens and Jriver

Sorry if I wasn’t clear. I have JRemote connected to my Jriver account, and I can use it for playing locally. However my Jremote isn’t giving me an option to play through the Airlens (it is just controlling the PC version of JRiver)

Oh I see, so if your Jriver can play to the AirLens but only Jremote not, you just have to select the AirLens bottom left in Jremote.

Okay, asking for help again

I had the Airlens working with JRiver and Tidal, but did a firmware upgrade on the Airlines and now JRiver won’t see the Airlens.

Anybody have the same experience, and if so, did you find a solution?

Thanks

It is working just fine for me.

Did you power off the airlens wait about 30 seconds and power it back on after the firmware update.

yes, I tried full power down of the Airlens, WiFi Router, and the laptop where my Jriver software is running. Airlens is working fine with Tidal, but my JRiver won’t even see the Airlens. It is not being displayed as a playback option

I am assuming you ran through the network device set up process in JRMC, correct?

Kudos to Pmotz

I am copying his feedback earlier in the thread as this solved my problem. Suggestion to anybody who is running JRiver on windows 11, and you find that JRiver’s visibility to the Airlens suddenly disappears. I followed these instructions, and after rebooting the computer, JRiver sees the Airlens agains everything is working properly .

Thanks

Well, I managed to solve my problem and I’m a bit embarrassed at how easy it was. For some reason Windows 11 thinks a computer on a home network should be set to “Public” (i.e., devices hidden from prying electrons). Next to this selection it Says “Recommended” and specifically says for Home Networks. Somewhere along the way in the last month or two I saw something related to this pop up and I selected the “safe” option. Not safe to my mental state it was. The correct option is a Private Network, which I chose last night and after a pop up for Media Center (JRiver) asking to access devices on the network (clicked Yes) it worked flawlessly. Computers will be the death of me …
