What is wrong? 8 hours without a new post? I have no comment but want to push the thread to 666. Actually, I am a firm believer of ears over measurements. In a few hours, the new cocktail hour starts.

Edit: oh Davida jumped in, nice! Cheer!

Is that a fact or conjecture? I ask because I have a P12 and the only time I hear any relay is when switching outlet zones on/off. Should I contact PS audio for inspection or repair?

I would ensure that it meets the above.

I’m a believer of ear AND measurement - neither one trumps the other.

For me, measurements assist in the selection process and it’s accompanying technologies, listening tells me did I make it there yet, or do I need to adjust. (and I was taken aback when I heard that someone tacked the epithet of “measurementalist” to me. Obviously they know nothing of me)

This is the never ending thread!

@jamesh is there something I could check myself to make sure it meets the above? Like I said, I never hear a click of any relay when using my P12. I think I am on latest firmware.

Round n’ round goes the merry go round…

Thanks dchang05…I’m just by standing watching rather reading
the parade as it circles around …

Iv’e had my say…and sticking with it…not changed or moved by
statement of others…Have been Blessed with a system that is a great sounding system…which happens to be powered by a P15…
no going back to being without one!!

Best wishes y’all

I’m like that too - measurements tells you a lot, but it doesn’t tell you everything. I might use measurements to narrow the selection down, but I would NEVER actually buy something based on measurements alone. If that was the case, all I would have is a Denon receiver with Polk speakers.

I’m not saying that Denon and/or Polk s*cks, but they definitely don’t stack up to how my current system actually SOUNDS right now, despite having excellent specs/measurements.

Even what I’ve seen of what Amir uses personally - I believe he uses a Levinson amp, Revel speakers, and I don’t know what else. If mere measurements were everything, why is he going beyond a good receiver and cheaper speakers? Don’t get me wrong, Levinson and Revels are great - I would love to own Levinsons (I do own a pair of Revel Concerta M20s - though they just sit in the corner of the room now), but a Denon or Yamaha receiver measures fine, so IN THEORY should sound no different from the Levinson.

Edit: I’m thinking if measurements are everything, nobody at ASR better own any tube equipment.

If your P12 has firmware 2.12 you have absolutely nothing to worry about.

So, did the firmware change something in regards to the inrush current limiter sensing?

As Paul mentioned above, older P12 could have an issue with it. The new FW guarantees it’s not an issue with any P12s.

All this back and forth could be put to bed with PS Audio showing on video that there is no issue. Why is this so hard?

As a long time owner of several PSA pieces, the lack of a thread ending response from PSA about this issue is a bit concerning. Plus it would clearly show that ASR is wrong and/or tested a bad unit. Win/win!

Because we’re now trying to get to 666 posts.

I think your nine or ten posts on this are sufficient. PS Audio has addressed this subject multiple times, although we all appreciate you would like a video.

If you have a unit you believe is acting up, please contact PS Audio service so that they can address your issue.

Thanks for the definitive answer.

Rumor has it Robin Williams took off his belt and headed for the closest closet at 666 utterances. He was too overwhelmed and overcome at that point.

Speaking of 6s…

trying to stay on topic - it does involve the number 6, which is half of 12
