High End Espresso Machine Buying Guide & Remarks Regarding Roon, Harman & Samsung

Mmm, couldn’t quite make out the prices on the board there  Maybe they’re not actually displayed “if you have to ask etc.” Knew someone who worked in KJ West One in the '80’s who said anywhere on that street was like being paved with gold. There is a Jay’s Audio visit shown in yesterday’s YT video which I won’t directly comment on:

You have a point about my cork choice though. Amongst the few wine bottles remaining I have which still use cork are Vinho Verde, although I’m told cork is passé. We spent a fascinating while driving through Portugal back in the '90’s and spent a lot of it looking at cork oaks. I note the Amorim dynasty which nearly sank a decade or so later is back with a vengeance and traded on Euronext Lisbon!

Jason is my guy at KJ. Never dealt with anyone else the last 10 years.

What he says from 16:00 sums up how to be a good dealer. People trust him. He never gets technical. Never gets involved in any marketing BS. Never really tries to sell anything. He’s just brilliant at understanding what customers want to get from their audio.

Always pretty chilled, that was about as excited as I’ve ever seen him. My wife came along to choose speakers and they got along like a house on fire, which made life very easy.

Helpful sites for newbies:

Probably a bad time to say it, but I like Instant coffee (Kenco, usually). Decaf (because I cannot have any caffeine at all), weak, with milk, and hot water from a kettle.

Having said that, I was “brought up” on Co-op cheapo instant “chicory and coffee”. Now that really is utterly vile.

Not at all.
You are clearly progressing in the right direction

Some people consider Cafe du Monde the best coffee in the world (granted, it’s not instant). I guess it’s all a matter of how it’s presented.

I told my wife, who is still in Asia now, that we can invest $10k in espresso machine and best beans and get much better coffee than from Nespresso. She said no problem, but she wants to spend $10k on shopping since there are so many great things to buy there.

We agreed that I will forget about coffee and she will shop wisely.

That is a loose definition, especially in this crazy internet place.

Sadness. My ECM Synchronika is delayed until the 11th of December. I shed a tear.

Yes, sorry! But looking on the bright side: it still is on time for Christmas.
Do you have to put it under the :christmas_tree:tree as well, even for a minute?

There was a time in my life that I could acquire extremely tricky Chinese Ping Pong paddles. I had a nice collection. Each had its own leather case. But then alcohol took over.

Remember, coffee is for life, not just for Christmas. Patience is a virtue.

We have a company in London that only sells Italian machines. A lot is trade. It’s run by Italians and I must say dealing with them is a bit tricky.

Most popular is a company that has a good range, does training, service and also sell decent coffee.

It’s a lot easier than selling hifi.

I must say an expresso machine in a lamborghini V-12 block or retrofitted in a jet engine might be just bit over the top.

Well I went down to the local coffee store
The menu went from the ceiling all the way down to the floor
Decaf, cappuccino, or latte said the cashier
I said gimme a small cup of coffee and let me get the hell up outta here
