You remind me of my dad. Always had a scheme going on in the background.
Agreed

You had a similar experience?
RSVP.
No
I may get a lot of flack for saying this but Iām not a believer that cables would make enough difference to change the sound to the degree to make the degree of difference to change the sound to the point that you would like it
Sorry
Classic poorly constructed sentence
Could be my ears
I just replaced my Matrix with a silent angel M1T with power supply and canāt say for sure I heard a huge difference
As u may be aware lots of folks discount huge differences in streamers (Iām sure Iāll get some FLAC for that as well even though itās true)
No flack from me. Expensive cables are nonsense. None of my cables cost over $40,000.
What! The cables are as important as equipment. The ratio should be at least two to one; with two for cables and one for equipment. If it is up to me, I would rather have a $10k cable/PC with a $1k streamer than a $10k streamer with $1k cable/PC.
Well, it took a total of five minutes from unboxing, upgrading, and getting Roon playing to my TA-ZH1ES. So far so good. I donāt have time to listen to it right now, I will later on tonight.
Typical great Holo build. The fit and finish reminds me of the KTE SU-2.
I thought it was quite heavy for the size of the box same as with the DACs. I like the look of the red color sitting amongst black gear on a black rack.
Gotcha. Agreed.

Have you got another type of cable you can try regardless of quality to see if you are in fact getting caught with the Pre-emphasis bug. Even if itās just a free USB cable that came with something.
Yes. Great build/solid feel.
Just got done watching my Boilermakers (ātape delayedā) flop in the Big Dance so I am heading back up to the listening room see if I can run down the Pre-Emphasis bug or otherwise figure out what is up with my new toy.
I will try a long AQ Carbon USB cable I keep on hand for wiring up the computer to the Pre-Pro to run Anthem Room Correction in lieu of the I2S cable to see if things improve and check the screen on the DAC to see if the Pre-Emphasis indicator is visible.
More to comeā¦
Sorry about your #1 Purdue falling. I watched.
Just confirmed the Pre-Emphasis indicator is illuminated when playing 44.1 files from JRMC and Roon.
Do you know if there is a way to turn it off?
Thanks.
Pretty disappointingā¦.
No I donāt. Seems we had a member here several years ago that was doing something with his cables to defeat that pin. Is something Holo will have to turn off in the software. For fun you might want to try a DSD file or something Hi-Res and see if it comes on. Also try the other three configurations and see what they do. I suspect using the USB cable will stop the dullness issue though.
Stayed on with a 9216 WAV file but turned off with a DSD64 file.
Itās that one pin then. Did the sound clear up with the DSD file?
Not quite sure. Switching to USB nowā¦
