Remember to check and see if your router assigned it a different IP address after you rebooted (if you are using DHCP). You might just be looking at a cached version of the page as it last was
you would not get the web page if it changed
It happened to me.
My browser cached it and it was still visible. Did a refresh with the cache dump and it was gone. Looked and saw it got assigned a new IP.
I personally use fixed IPâs for all of my gear.
I usually do - and for some reason never did for my Red. I really should change that ![]()
Yâknow, the more I see in total on the Red, for both sound and control, the more I think this is going to be a letdown (I hope Iâm wrong, though!). Iâm not hearing a lot of the same kind of hyperbolic enthusiasm as other much less (to me) impactful things discussed on the forum. Kind of like (pardon the ancient sexist tone) the homely girlfriend the guy doesnât really want to admit is homely, but defends the choice by saying âshe has a great personality!â.
Apologies for trotting out an unevolved insulting trope. I hope to be proven wrong. ![]()
I do not use static but should. But itâs still the same ip. I scanned and found it again at that port. Still have same issue. The scan shows it as upnp. Should I turn that off and try
What is the big deal about this update. It either works or it doesnât and as long as the unit still works itâs irrelevant. Maybe they have a server issue on their end and it will work when they resolve it. On my end the unit works great as it has since it came out of the box and sounds good. And more importantly to me it actually exists to be purchased and is not a mythical creature. If youâve got it and it doesnât work for you or youâve ordered it and had second thoughts then just put it up for sale and be done. There are plenty of other choices out there for you at multiples of itâs price. I own several of them so I now. Maybe paying the extra money or mainstream print reviews will make you feel better.
Seems like after beta testing the MKII, a lot of us are beta testing the RED
![]()
and people wonder why there are relatively fewer women in our hobby
Thereâs no Beta testing going on the unit works as advertised.
Agreed, the only issue thus far has been this update. It seems like the issue is at Holoâs end. Otherwise itâs been great.
There have already been multiple updates in less than three months and as designed this OS is so bare bones it canât be that significant anyway. Itâs not much more than a shell.
Yeah, agreed. Itâs either a very slight bug, or a feature that I personally canât guess what it might be.
Since itâs base is supposedly some variation of Volumio they could add features but not likely so early since there are so many other options if you want to load them instead of Red OS or over the top like Roon.
Agreed. Since I am using Roon itâs set it and forget it.
Though I did notice on my Sony DAP, it sees it via UPnP. I havenât tried that yet. I may this evening for fun.
Works just fine with JRMC as wellâŠ.
Iâve been using it with Mconnect and it works just like the Bridge did except no radio function with this version. Need to get around to trying JPlay for IOS which has a âradioâ function like the one in Roon just not all the All Music related stuff.
RE: Pending Firmware Update (Update) ![]()
FYI, I ran my IP Scanner widget this evening and tracked down the IP Address for the device; and then opened it in the browser.
I attempted to initiate the indicated update again to no avail. ![]()
After they sent out update notice they must have pulled it back for some reason or are having server issues. Not a big deal.
