How about concert photos?

Booker T could have been born under a bad sign but he looks great at 78. Music is good for your health and soul. Catch him if you can.

I caught the Fruit Bats a couple weeks ago at the Cat’s Cradle in Carrboro, NC. Took my usual perch with the sound guy. They put on a good show.

We had the extreme pleasure to experience “the most famous Dobro player” (Jerry Douglas) and his excellent band last night at our very own local (and tiny) Country Store here in Floyd, VA. What a treat. He and his band played for two hours straight and his playing just got better throughout the performance. Other band members were exceptional too. Huge entertainment minutes from home for the measly sum of $55 each.

Very Cool! I love how Alison Krauss introduces him as, “The greatest dobro player the world has ever known.” I really need to see him live. In a time of astronomical ticket prices you gotta love shows like that. Thanks for sharing.

Last show of the season, triple bill, excellent new score by Anna Thorvaldsdottir, plus Bernstein and Martinu. More to the point, the last performance by Laura Morera, who started her training at the Royal Ballet 33 years ago at age 11, was in the company for 27 years and a Principal Dancer for 16 years. She is remaining in a senior backstage role. All very emotional, lots of flowers, lovely speech from the company director.

Entirely fortuitously, the chimp looks like he’s standing on the drum cymbal. In fact, he and the vine from which he is hanging are painted on the wall, which is many feet behind the stage.

Apologies for having no photos, but saw the Chicago Goodman Theater perform The Who’s Tommy last
night. Best version I’ve seen to date, and the band kept up with the original (except for Keith Moon, of course). The Theater had even more subs than you do. A fun night.

I’m wondering what’s going on with the main male dancer’s left arm. :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

It’s my rubbish photography. Matthew Ball is perhaps our best all-round male principal dancer, his girlfriend Mayara Magri is also a principal dancer - with him below. She’s my favourite Juliet. We have two other pairs of principals who are also partners (Francesca Hayward and Cesar Corrales, Fumi Kaneko and Reece Clarke).

Matty Ball goes to all the big music, arts and cultural events, we see him all over the place, a very intelligent man and clearly planning a life as an artistic director when his dancing comes to an end.
