Al Di Meola & the Metropole Orkest
Sages and Spirits at Cervantes in Denver CO 5/29/2026
This was our first time seeing this arrangement of these artist, but they were great together and my wife, uncle and I all really enjoyed the show. Glad they did a full set like the Dead and there was no opener. They played another unique set on 5/30 but I was not able to make it to both shows. Melvin Seals was again absolutely wonderful. I saw him a couple months back and could not wait to see him again for good reason. I think I’m getting an idea of why Jerry liked playing with him so much. Sorry, just one photo from the show.
Melvin Seals (Jerry Garcia Band)
Rob Eaton (Dark Star Orchestra)
John Kadlecik (Furthur, Jerry Garcia Band)
Jay Lane (RatDog, Furthur, Primus, Dead & Co)
Skip Vangelas (Dark Star Orchestra)
Jake Wolf (Rocky Mountain Grateful Dead Revue)
I was unaware he is still around.
Nice! I’d love to see him live sometime. I only came across him recently and was just watching an old live show from him last night on YouTube. Hopefully he will come through my area here soon. I’d certainly go if I can.
Thanks! Second time I’ve seen him, he’s one of those guys that just makes insane playing look completely effortless, definitely worth going if he’s around.
From 2 nights in a row. Might be only shows I get to this year. ![]()
But they were fun, last photo is Joe Jackson and band at Paramount Theater, Denver. I’m exhausted.
My wife and I made it to Red Rocks on June 7th for Trey Anastasio and the Colorado Symphony. I absolutely loved the show. I’m not sure how many of these shows with the Symphony we have seen at Red Rocks but we go to at least one each summer. This was by far the best of those shows we have seen. Trey’s music fit really well with the Colorado Symphony and they did their best job yet of integrating and supporting the artist. It is what I always hope for at these shows but rarely does it actually happen how I imagine. It came together perfectly this time.
Trey was solo with the Symphony and did not bring anyone from Phish or the Trey Anastasio Band. He has been playing acoustic sets lately, and that certainly worked well with the symphony, but he also pulled out the electric guitar for some of his hits, which I was really thankful for. It was a fantastic show and is now among the great shows I have seen live. I’m looking forward to seeing him with Phish later this summer.
Nice work, I bet that was amazing! Never been to Red Rocks but it’s a must at some point.
I really enjoy the Wood Brothers live and hope you had a good time at their show. Too bad you did not get a picture of the bass player doing his dance, if he still does.
Bassist Chris Wood did not do his ‘duck walk’-style dance this time.
I haven’t been here for a long time. I’m surprised no one has uploaded pics of the 4 Sold Out Rush shows last week in L.A.
I was there for night # 1 (June 7th) and it was incredible night. Anika Niles got more standing ovations than Geddy or Alex ! And they were both tight as ever. FOr me opening with Xanadu and later La Villa Strangiato was esssentially worth the price of admission !
While I missed out on The Trees, A Farewell to Kings (the song), & The Camera Eye later in the week (various shows).
I’m off to Mexico City this week for the 1st night of the two nights they are playing there. Staying at my In-Laws and getting to and from the Indoor Stadium will not be fun. Especially if the torrential downpours of rain continue.
I would so much love to see Rush when they hit Denver, but ticket prices seem to have gone bezerk. ![]()
I was lucky to have “waited in line”, online for 2 hrs. before my turn came up for both the L.A. & CDMX shows. The tix were right where I wanted to be2nd section beside the stage. Off axis away from the Speakers so as not to blow our ears out.
