How about concert photos?

As a part of AXPONA they have free concerts Friday and Saturday night. I needed rest Friday more than a concert, but Saturday was a no brainer … Shelby Lynne! It was a full house and she was very good! I think of her as a country artist, but other than her southern drawl, it was, well, music!

Classic Albums Live at our local community amphitheater Friday and Saturday night. They play a classic album from needle drop to run out, then after a short intermission interact with the crowd and play other tunes from the band.

This weekend was Eagles Hotel California and Fleetwood Mac Rumors. Rumors was by far the better show. Last year we saw Led Zeppelin II - it was fantastic!

It’s a great venue about 2.5 km away from our house. The sound is the best up on the upper lawn as the sound has time and distance to bloom and become one.

Is that Eric Heywood playing with her?

I think it is. Shelby introduced him at the beginning, but I couldn’t quite make out his name through her drawl. Sadly, I wasn’t aware of him before hand so I didn’t make the connection. He was really good though, so now I know!

I avoid Shelby - I can’t forget her drinking or her attempting to slug me in a stupor. But it’s great to see Eric out there. An incredible steel player; he did something at a jam a few years ago that sounded like bebop.

Also built his own house many years ago and completely reconstructed one of our bathrooms.

Well, that’s interesting … She was drinking something during the concert and got more raucous as the show went on, but this is the first time I’ve seen her, so can’t draw conclusions. Chad Kassem introduced her and said he liked her because she was a “bad ass chick”, well she seemed to live up to that. While standing in line the guys around me were talking and one said she had a traumatic childhood which has translated to this type of behavior. I really know nothing about her, so I’ll leave it at that.

My personal “Gods” of blues-infused rock and my all time favorite guitar player Mr Buck “Donald Roeser” Dharma. Just listen to their albums “Tyranny and Mutation” and “Secret Treaties” and honestly tell me this music doesn’t move you in some way.

I’m hoping they will come close to me so I can attend.

In case it’s not obvious to you “youngsters” out there this is The Blue Oyster Cult. Buck is 70 and Eric is 73 granted but oh what playing still in my opinion.

Great pics, thanks, but I think the music needs more cowbell.

For the record it’s actually a wood block.
