He was the very definition of arrogant. He was petulant and short tempered to everyone working there.
(It was a private event in NYC in the late 1980’s)

Odd, I had exactly the opposite experience. I got on an elevator in SF and there he was all by himself. We chatted all the way to the lobby with me mostly telling him how much I liked Harvest Moon and the reflection on Harvest. I went into the restaurant he went another direction. When it came time to pay, the waiter told me it was paid for as he pointed across the restaurant at Young who just nodded his head and went back to his newspaper.

MOST people are grey, not black or white (complex), individuals.
There are exceptions though - some real ____'s (fill in the blank with your favorite pejorative) out there.
I am thankful most people never have to experience me at my worst, so to speak.
