iFi LAN iSilencer

My point is, the two or three people I am aware of who tried the device returned it.

No argument from either of you chaps. I tried the Stack filter and it was woefully short of the Muon Pro. If someone can’t swing for it, it might be a consideration, but I would not endorse it.

It’s not the worst sub $300 device I have tried, and of course it is not in the same league with any of the Muons.

I believe the Stack is 21/2 times the $300 level you are taking about.

Hah, I am talking about the $272 (used to be $250) filter. I have not tried their more expensive one. There maybe a misunderstanding here.

There are two different IFI purifiers. The IFI lan purifier @sandrock is referring to is more like the stack audio but I concur it’s not on the same level as a MUON Pro.

We’re all confused. Let’s just recommend Muon from now on. Wait, there’re a few there too.

What I’ve been referring to is the Stack SmoothLan Regenerator, $851. It is, to me, basically an Ethernet filter. I thought this might challenge the Muon Pro. It does not. I would think that devices priced well below the Stack would not do well either, but I have not tried them.
There seems to be a propensity to find a low cost “discovery” or “ giant killer” around every corner.
It might be that some of these lower cost solutions can cut the mustard but if any one of them can sound as good as the standard, and cost significantly less, then my hat is off to them.
