Yes, I totally get that too! The working man/woman shall not be forgotten! Not like Klipsch is “cheap” anyways. More like middle class. I am being serious. Even people that can afford Magico might have other ideas about how to spend their money. I know another Doctor who has been in practice over 40 years and has maybe $25 speakers. I have several times tried to show him better. He said his suit him fine!
See I really am somewhat sane too. I decided spending $$$ on USB power for the fraction of a second the DSS requires it is stupidity. Otherwise it infiltrates the sound none. Those that feel otherwise are misguided. If you just cannot get a good USB sound(which is obtainable) then simply move on to I2S.
I feel all these “boxes” are designed to separate one from their funds and serve no electrical purpose. Perhaps on paper but not in reality or maybe even vice versa. I am done fiddling with that. It makes no difference whatsoever in my systems.
I actually kind of bet it might in a $10K system though. At least some systems. With a noisy PC as host instead of a music server or NUC,
Obviously my Paul Hynes is going on the NUC it was never meant to stay as USB power. In that regard it sounds no different here than a $2 wall-wart! As USB power I mean. It was a good experiment nonetheless.
All-in-All I do think I will at least get a “basic” linear PSU for $35 just to satisfy myself. I think what this proves is that it is all in the source. Garbage in-garbage out. If I put a $20 Ebay DAC in front of one of my systems I doubt it would sound any good.
There are all these other threads regarding just this. However I feel Band-Aids are not needed. Do not cut yourself in the first place! I put this here. Since if I were to put this in one of “those” threads I would obviously be flamed for it. In fact it already happened. Well, it went nowhere pretty much. I explained USB is not inherently better than I2S and was ran right out of there of course.
In fact it is not. It is your source, cables ETC, and no need for “boxes”. I can prove it. True, on the cheap it will make a difference. I prefer “do it right” Again, not trying to be a jerk. I seriously am not. So please no Richie-Rich comments thank you.
Here is how I see it. If you are going to build crap for 10 grand, just build crap for 2 grand then. Then get all the boxes to fix it. Actually I can build a nice little system that does not need “boxes” for their 10 grand. They will add the boxes anyways because they “must” improve the sound. show me DBT on it please then. Honestly not trying to be a jerk! I strongly feel these “boxes” degrade the sound! Hey whatever floats their boat. There is no wrong way to enjoy audio.
He’s not banned, JSYK. Just on a cruise ship between Australia and Vietnam, I believe.
I honestly don’t care where he is and don’t miss the nonsense that goes with him being here. And since if history is any indicator he is not going to change so it will end up that way. He doesn’t act like he does here on the other forums as it is not tolerated.

I don’t even know what he did? Maybe it is not that big a deal? I mean plenty of people here think I am a jerk and I am really not if you knew me. You just figure automatically money=jerk. You do not listen to anything in between. Maybe what he did is worse. I mean you folks are just judging me. I did not actually do anything bad. Perhaps he did. I have no clue.

That’s what the dictionary say. That’s what some people thinks he is doing.
Funny, that not the impression I get from him. He did have some bad luck with his PS Audio equipment and could not get a resolution satisfactorily, and I believe that’s why he reacts the way he does when he sees others with similar experiences. But he’s not a bad guy, I feel he helps just as much as he hurts. I’ve seen him help many that posted problems on this forum. I think he makes this forum more interesting. I for one welcome him.

Now you are really going to hate me. I am a Physician and an Attorney. I am an 'Expert witness". I testify in court cases. So you can see how I have a hard time not mentioning money LOL. Honestly I really did not think I mentioned money that much. I really need to work on toning it down. I am serious. This is a personal problem I must work out. I am glad you folks did not run me right out of here but rather have given me a chance. I honestly feel bad the way I have behaved.
Has there been a more controversial and divisive forum member than Botnet ? I cannot think of one other person who has garnered such a following beit good or bad. Even when he was on a sabbatical, temporarily exiled he was leitmotif. I find it interesting how some really like his input while to others he’s akin to a puppetmaster! Personally, I have nothing against Brodric. I have never met him. Only contact with him is via the forum. I find him to be intelligent, witty, ‘interesting’ but CLEVER!!!
