New BHK pre-amp...wow

@Brodric - Anniversary… and I love sitting many feet away with options… tweaking is in the blood…

I’m completely Shunyata Research power cables on every price oh gear. I get my (6) cables; third batch of SR power cords in a few weeks. I owe you a legitimate back of the rack picture… P20, BHK300s, BHKPRE, DSD, DMP, REL subs, and (4) Sboosters LPS.

I’d love to own a full set of SR Sigma power cables. Alas, I’m poor, and they are priced way outside my pay grade.

Oh, and I just got one of these…for being a regular part of our community over a period of months. I guess the first 20 years didn’t count for much.

@Brodric - Yeah, that was about half the price of your spinner… :weary: that was a very interesting conversation with my sweetie… you spent what on power cords… really, are you out of your mind… look sweetie, it’s not another engine… I love my car hobby, I use that all day long… compared to racing cars, this is a relatively tame sport facing the credit card conversation… well, when a power cord is twice the money of a set of really good tires… you could argue…

Or those “special” feet for the Magico’s.

I use the Shunyata Alpha power cables. They’re worth the money.
And I tried a Sigma and sent it back. The biggest difference over the Alpha that I could notice was on my bank balance, not sound quality.

The new Audioquest power cables are getting some traction. Reports on Audioshark, maybe better than SR.

Did you get your Denali?

Unfortunately no. Shunyata won’t sell me one.

I have a full set of Alphas coming to me. I could hear significant improvements over the Deltas, especially on the DAC but did not try the Sigmas. Hard enough to justify this expenditure. Whole system will have SR except for
PS AC12 for P20. I actually demoed the Denali before the P20 (Brodrick) and thought it was superb and thought it was a toss up against the P15. Low noise and blacker background vs. greater dynamics and better imaging. Finally chose the P20 that sounded even better and had more inputs.
System synergy was also a bias, and being a gear slut, l liked the engineering, design, weight. Intangibles maybe, but fun.

Are you on their “no buy” list? A picture of your face with a line thru it?

The problem is, Denali hasn’t been certified for use/sale in Australia. I made arrangements to buy one in Singapore, and one was set aside for me by a dealer, however than plan got unraveled and the dealer went cold on it.

Shunyata has suggested I buy one on the used market. The number of 230V Denali with US sockets on the used market is zero.

“Low noise and blacker background vs. greater dynamics and better imaging”—which was which Denali vs P15

Just as well. I can’t imagine it could be as effective as a regenerator.

The order you describe is correct.

@RonP - Right you are - use the Anaconda (6ga) for the P20, Alpha NR for the DMP, DSD, BHKPRE, and BHK300s, and the Delta NR for the REL subs (class D amps), and (4) Sboosters ({3} 35 watt, {1} 55watt). I’m waiting for the rich people to trade in next spring and get the Sigma NR “used” for my P20 (6ga). I can’t see wasting the money going to Sigma NR from Alpha NR unless you have some serious load to satisfy. Since my P20 load is 40%, the Sigma is only needed on P20 and even that is a stretch… the same holds true for the REL subs & Sbooster LPS (Delta NR to Alpha NR) a very good point you make… the expenditure for (6) additional Alpha NRs could not see it… i was after the CCI mostly, not the 6ga for a 35watt Sbooster LPS.

@straightwire - Did you try the Denali feeding the P15 Regenerator; like the DENALI D2000/T (30A) feeding the P15 or P20? I’m wondering if the D2000 (30A) is capable of the dynamic current needed for the P20?

For a couple of grand, it might be very interesting to see how much better performing the P20 might be with very clean power. The only sticking point might be the dynamic current capability of the D2000.

I did not comb the Denali with the PPs. Could be interesting but staying with what I have. The small Denali tower could be great for those with hungry monos and other conditioners or regenerator and is a good $ now as you have noted.

But Shunyata make a very big deal of the non current limiting technology of their Denali.

@straightwire & @RonP - I am minutes away from setting up a demo w/ the cableco.com… that would be interesting. The P20 is nothing more than a big AMP with 5mohms output impedance to loads… the D2000T is a line conditioner w/ CCI technology… @$4500 including Sigma NR power cable for D2000T… this may be very cool demo… I have a 10/2 single run w/ SR BLUE duplex… feed the D2000T with wall outlet and P20 with D2000T… very interesting…

@RonP - yeah, I just finished all their videos on their conditioner line… and it makes sense what @straightwire heard with the differences.

Yup. Got that. Like your cable plan. Will probably replace the AC12 down the road. Want to try Iconoclast IOs next. Have the SPTPC. Onward and upward.
