Back to speakers, when @Paul announced in April that the PS Audio speakers would be published at RMAF it sounded rather certain, he used the words:
What has happened? as 1 day ago Paul MacGowan said:
That is clearly not what was said in April.
Hope Chris Brunshaven (designer of the speakers) will still be alive and Paul not in jail.
Perhaps RMAF 2022 then.
Oh @Elk, do not let this thread become a mess, derailing it to accusing the Axpona for unrighteousness like withholding money.
Get a lawyer to sort that out if you want but people in Illinois and from elsewhere enjoy that show, and Covid-19 hurt the Hotel and exhibition industry more then 10.000 US$. They lost their jobs and companies.
If the speakers functionally aren’t ready for prime time by the show but aesthetically they are ready and prototype available, is it better to show a non working static prototype just to get the buzz going on how it looks, or better to show nothing at all?
Maybe answer changes given a few swing and misses already (show demos that never became products)?
I was also a bit floored during the speaker schedule so far, but imo it’s most important that things were not simply done because they were already far enough, but that the specialists were heard and considered in the sense of a better product.
It’s two months later and the schedule has slipped. Not surprising at all given the world wide effects of COVID. Read about the DS Mk II, some parts for that were estimated as 12-18 months lead time, I would guess that is twice normal. The delays required changes to keep the delay in production to a minimum.
I wouldn’t call this an accusation, they did withhold the money with no offer of transferring it to the next show. Others have made the accusation, but PS Audio can say definitively it was not returned or credited.
In the Channel Islands Audio “corner” of the Audiocircle forum, Dusty Vawter has made similar claims of questionable business practices by the T.H.E. Show organizer.
Hey Everyone, I’m in the market for new speakers to go with my stellar m700’s and stellar Preamp, looking at Tekton DI model, but trying to way to see what Paul has coming in the way of speakers, the last I heard , it would be this month, anyone has some scoop? Thanks
From Paul’s email this morning (July 8’th):
“ We’ve just signed a contract for the upcoming Rocky Mountain Audio Fest to be held October 8th through the 10th in Denver.
If you’re vaccinated, into high-end audio, then this is where you’ll want to be come this October.
And yes, we will be playing and displaying the long-awaited FR-30 loudspeakers.”
Up until now for US citizens only. We just had to reschedule our trip to the US for the third time as the decree (entry ban) is not lifted. For the right reasons though. The delta variant hits hard in a number European countries. It is what it is.
Paul’s post shows the new FR-30 speaker. It looks like a beauty! If it sounds as good as it looks wow! Hope you don’t mind I borrowed the pic from the ad because it needs to be shared!
No worries. It sounds better than it looks. This is going to be a monster. Big sound, images like crazy, flat to 30Hz, midrange like you’ve never heard before at any price.
Thanks @Paul! Is there going to be more info and pics added to the website soon? I’d love to see a 360 view of these beauties! I don’t need the specs I let my ears do that stuff!
