New PS Audio speakers?

You mean that not so subtle product placement?

I like the gray. But, I may be partial to gray. I live in the Pacific NW, we get a lot of gray (days).

I have 3 gray vehicles 2 gray houses and 3 gray industrial buildings. Does that count?

I have Dark Platinum speakers. Is that an up-market version of grey?

My music room has several greys, we have an anthracite stone floor (100sqm of it) and dark grey granite outside. Also a shiny grey Nissan and a grey striped eucalyptus veneer in our bedroom. Two different greys in the bathroom. The grey FR-30 best match the bathroom. I have a sound system in there, but the FR-30 wouldn’t fit. The bath weighs 160kg, was fun carrying it up the stairs, practise for BHK600.

A good match for FR-30?

I have grey hair and a grey beard. And my Maggies are grey.

Those of us with hair probably also share your colour scheme.

I think the speakers look a lot better in a darker color, but I’m not a fan of white, so no surprise for me. Paul did make an off-hand comment that they will cost $20k - $30k, so any hopes of them coming in below $20k seem increasingly unlikely.

Personally, having recently spent close to that on speakers, if someone hears speakers at that sort of price point and really wants them, I suspect $5k here or there isn’t going to make a massive difference.

The biggest problem I see for direct selling is that you cannot control the potential customer from focusing on the price, and they will see it early on. The best salesmen I’ve seen have effectively sold the product or service to the customer before they even ask the price.

Are the 2 p20’s and BHK 300’s silver?

i like grey, maybe with a hint of blue on occasion, but i still prefer wooden speakers (and hence also the look of natural wood acoustic guitars), in a relaxing living room
can’t speak for the bathroom - ours is silent, mostly!

Hi Paul,

Is the FR30 made up of 3 pieces? Top Tweeter/Mid-range, plus TWO bass modules? If so, would a smaller version include just two pieces? One bass and one mid/twitter?

Or, would the smaller version actually have smaller cabinets altogether (width, depth, smaller drivers)?

BTW, LOVING the new design, you guys have finally NAILED IT! PLEASE also make a matching Center channel! I am building a stereo/HT room, and a matching center is KEY to make it all work!

A second vote for a Center. :tv:

We’ll kind of. It’s a really really dark gray. Kind of blackish.

I really like these speakers a lot. I hope the “trickle-down” Stellar level speakers are of similar design. The midrange/tweeter combo look fantastic. I love that they see the importance of a midrange driver.

I too would like to see them in a wood cabinet as well. As long as they don’t start producing them in Tekton-style colors (no offense to Tekton owners).

Why not? You can simply NOT buy in one of THOSE colors.

You get the other end of the scale with Paul standing next to them, they are quite large, not that that’s a bad thing in any way shape or form.

I still love them. I would absolutely love to hear those ribbon midrange drivers, I bet that’s something really special!

Is this model designed to ship in 2 boxes per speaker; tweeter/midrange & woofer/passive radiator?

Yes, they are modular.
