What size of bolt was removed from the S812, as according to Josh Rel uses the same bolt on all their big subwoofers?
How does the 6 pack sound after the footers were added, in comparison to before the footers?

It turns out that one needs a 3mm Allen wrench to get the screws out of the base of the REL Carbon Special. After removing the REL base (2 curved pieces), I then found that the screws for the Stack Audio feet do not fit the openings in the Carbon Special, so I ended up putting the REL base back on, then put the Stack Audio feet beneath the REL base, and listened to music.
Initial impression is positive. Bass seems cleaner, but additional listening is needed to see how it seems over a longer period. Whether the initial improvement is from the absorbing properties of the feet or because of elevating the Carbon Special higher up off the floor, is something I cannot determine at this time (and might not know later on either). Will continue to listen and will report back.

Josh said he had the Carbon Special bolts sorted as a beta tester had removed his runners. Hopefully he will update his information based on your experience.
I don’t think you’ll get to properly test out the new footers until you get them securely fastened to the subs with the correct bolt size.
The footers are shorter than the base of the carbon special, so the height of the sub will be lower with the Stack Audio feet without the REL base, and the height of the sub higher with Stack Audio feet plus REL base.
The theory of feet resting without bolts is not new. Annie Nudell, for example, designed the Infinity Modulus speakers just like that. There technically is a screw, but just to prevent the speakers from being knocked over, not to tightly secure to the support below.

I checked with my Carbon Specials and you couldn’t have runners and use the footers at the same time but with the runners removed there is enough room to put the footers under the sub.
What I would be concerned about is that without the bolts holding the footers in place that the sub would ‘walk’ off the footers over time, due to the bass vibrations from the sub?
I am thinking that sliding is much more of a possibility without the base. The screws from Stack don’t fit into the holes of the sub, so the padding beneath the base of the REL has friction, where the bottom of the sub without it’s base is frictionless. I will report back whether the sub with the base plus Stack footers moves or doesn’t move through time. My guess is that it won’t move.
Any reviews yet from anyone adding the feet to Rel Carbon Specials?
Has anyone been able to contact the Stack guys recently? I need to purchase CSA 3 inserts for one of my sets of EQs and haven’t been able to get a response over the last couple weeks. It seems abnormal – they were super communicative when I purchased the 100s and EQs back in 2024.
Maybe it’s the holiday season keeping them busy on a personal level.
I received screws that fit into the bottom of the carbon special and installed the Stack footers into the bottom of the sub without the sub’s base/feet. I was not happy, as the magic disappeared. With my tube preamp in the system, I definitely like having the Stack footers beneath the base feet of the REL carbon special. It elevates the carbon special and the resulting smoother upper bass, as there is magic in the system this way.
That’s brought back a memory of my experience on my old speakers. When I screwed a set of Footers under, they seemed to dampen the sound too much. I preferred to place the footers under the speakers instead.
However, on FR30 the screw on Stacks definitely sounds better. It’s probably due to the design of their support.

Ah, I suppose it could also be turned upside down, which wouldn’t damage anything and give full access to the ‘runners’?
I rotated my carbon special backward 90° so the controls faced the floor, but used a soft cloth beneath the sub and with carpeting beneath the soft cloth. I did not want to risk scratching the front or side surfaces. A 3mm Allen wrench works to loosen (and tighten) the screws.
Of course I turned the carbon special off and unplugged both the power cable and twisted the speakon cable off by turning counterclockwise while sliding the silver sliding lock.
Have you read your PM regarding the Stack SW’s?
You’re a braver man than me. I would have been afraid of damaging the controls by resting the sub on it’s back where the controls are.
When I’m doing mine I’ll put mine upside down, under soft cloths, to prevent any scratches.
It seems to me if REL thought there was a better thing to rest their subs on they would release them with the better things. My REL subs are safe from modifications.
Actually, you’re braver than me. Just looking at the top surface will result in swirl marks.
Does that go for REL supplied power cords too? 
Just like the Gryphon Power Zone, of course in that situation no modification was necessary. Just a few shekels for the Stacks Auva EQ footers.
