I have a P15 that shuts down periodically seemingly during high intensity music passages. I am using two high wattage and current mono blocks. If both amps were connected to the outlet on zone E could this cause this issue? Is zone D and E somewhat isolated that I should connect one amp to zone E and the other to zone D? I have all other equipment connected to zones A-B-C Thanks
Welcome!
Welcome and hopefully someone from PS Audio chimes in to assist you with your issue. I too own a P15 though at the moment it is my HT gear that is plugged to it. I did have an issue with it which required the quick change of it’s Oscillating Board as I was experiencing random “INITIALIZING” issues… mainly the screen freezing or getting stuck. A hard reboot took care of it at first… but over time, it was clear that the Oscillating Board needed to be replaced. Fortunately it was still within the warranty period. It was soon sent out to me for free and was a quick fix. No issues since. Best of Luck with your issues which hopefully get resolved soon!
I own a P20, not a P15, but I experienced my P20 shutting down under high wattage loads too. My understanding is that is by design to protect your equipment. This happened when I was running my P20, and all of my home theater equipment, from one 15 amp circuit (the P20 is not used to its maximum abilities with a 15 amp circuit). This “overload” situation prompted me to have two new 20 amp circuits installed, one that is dedicated for the P20. These new circuits were wired as “home runs” and the sound improvement was amazing! The P20 can now operate at full capacity with the 20 amp circuit. I also moved some equipment to the second 20 amp circuit and left other equipment on the original 15 amp circuit. Since adding the new circuits, I have not had anymore shutdowns. In your case, I don’t think that the zones on your P15 are the issue.
