Perfectwave DAC - Genuine? Status?

G’Day Guys,

My apologies, I know this is a bit rude, as this is my first post here, without a proper introduction (Hello there!); but I am looking to buy what I believe to be an upgraded Perfectwave DAC. The front panel bears the “Perfectwave Digital to Analog Converter” label stencilled into the casing.

The rear ID is : APW-DAC-INT-S
PWD-C1-0H0-25088
Unit ID 25088

It has a stick-on label to the upper right rear panel saying “Directstream” which anyone could stick there. I am told that the factory supplies these labels to users when they install the upgrade kit? True?

If it’s running Sunlight then it is in fact an upgraded PWD.

The little rubberized sticker came from the factory with the upgrade kit

Thanks guys. I knew there’d be somebody who’d know right off the bat. I can buy with some confidence now. The seller wants $2000 AUS with bridge. Cosmetics excellent. An ok price do you think?

Hi Gary and welcome. Yes, it is true. We offered an upgrade kit for PerfectWave DACs that replaced all the guts and turned it into a DirectStream. Looks legit from the outside.
