Hi, I have a PowerPlant 5 and I recently obtained a DSD Mk. 1. I’ve stacked them with the DSD on top of the PowerPlant which looks nice and I’ve separated them with 1/2 inch rubber spacers. I’ve noticed the DSD is getting a little warm on the bottom from the vents on the PP5. I’m wondering if stacking these particular components might make the PowerPlant overheat and just want to make sure this is safe. Thanks!
PS. I do have a heat gun, so if there’s some temperature I should keep the top of the PP I can see if I’m going over that.

Welcome to the forum!
I love a good stacking situation, and as a stacker myself, I’m not sure of the wiseness of stacking anything on top of the P15. If you must, I’d suggest a taller footer under the DSD. Even better might be a thick wood board such as cutting or an isolation platform under the DSD, but elevated above the P15 with taller feet under the board, or above the board under the DSD. This might keep heat (and EMI/RFI?) from the DSD.
If you go the cutting board route, the Boos brand on Amazon are thick and lovely. I see them in pics of audiophile rigs as I’m out and about on the interwebs.

Hi, I’ve been thinking about this, looking at internal pictures of the DSD Mk. 1 it looks like the bottom of the device has a metal plate. Considering that EMI can’t get through a Faraday cage, I don’t think it’d be able to get through the metal plate on the bottom of the device. (Certainly, it can go around the plate to the front and back or top of device, but it seems like it could do that if I put a wood board between the devices as well.)
The DSD Mk1 draws about 25 watts and itself gets quite hot. I’d put the P5 on top of the DSD with a 2 inch gap.
This makes sense. My main worry is having the power cables from the P5 draping down over the RCA cables coming off the DSD, because I feel like that COULD produce interference. Let me think about the best way to do it, maybe there’s a way to route the cables sensibly.
