PS Audio AirLens

And will it even work with Innuos using Sense app streaming Qobuz or files from disc? So if I connect Innuos streamer and Airlens to same switch they see each other and will work or not?

Can´t remember if that was already answered by PS Audio.

I believe this was addressed a few thousand messages back. I believe your number 3 is the answer.

I asked this question to @Paul a few months ago and he promised to test Sense App using the AirLens with a ZENith that is available in room 2.
I hope he can soon answer our question now that the little toy is so close to beta phase.

As soon as I can once again get my hands on an AirLens to play with I will.

You guys are super sleuths!

We really have nothing else to do except keep refreshing the PSA website and randomly click stuff. Really.

Hm per the specs, the only way to stream Qobuz seems to be through Roon. But I don’t have Roon. As the AirLens does have Spotify and Tidal connect, is it possible that Qobuz streaming can be added later? Or is that fundamentally impossible given the hardware capabilities etc?

Edit: Or might this be a limitation of Qobuz itself, they don’t have a ‘connect’ component yet that runs inside a streamer, like Spotify and Tidal have.

This is a good question. I was wondering the same thing after reading the specs!
I’m sure many of us want Qobuz without Roon like we can achieve with the Bridge II.

Once again thank you! And congrats for the MK II I’m enjoying recently, well done!

Paul, is there any pro or con regards using LAN cable vs. Wifi with it?

I was told that Qobuz should work with Mconnect app for the Airlens. Hopefully that still stands as I really like Qobuz over tidal. Would be a shame not to be able to use Qobuz.

Alternative is to use DLNA - which seems to be the main target of the AL.
So Mconnect would work, and a whole raft of other apps etc.
ALternatively if you already have LMS as your music server (aka slimserver, squeezeboxserver, etc) then there are plugins for DLNA for that (I understand some music server appliances offer LMS as an alternative to their own in-house server, or as an alternative to Roon.

If you aren’t running a music server for local files (e.g. CD Rips) then one way or another you will need a smartphone or tablet to send music to it

• Dropbox (through Roon)

This makes no sense. Roon can use Dropbox for configuration backup only. The Dropbox support has nothing to do with streaming or music playback.

Al is correct. Paul said a while back there was something like a 12 month backlog to get the AirPlay chips so they dropped it (I think they redesigned the board as a result). Another victim of the supply chain.

Incorrect. Paul said in June or July that the Airplay chips weren’t available until December 2022. It’s now January 2023.

Edit: I’m wrong on this quote, apparently. Apologies for getting it wrong.

I may be off on the timing but the fact they dropped AirPlay because of chip unavailability would still seem to be correct.

How then do you explain all the other new products coming out every day that have Airplay chips in them? I could easily find 10 new dacs/streamers/integrated amps that have come out over the last six months that have Airplay chips in them.

This is the explanation Paul gave in July from post 1294:

You’d have to ask Paul why other manufacturers seem to be able to get AirPlay chips. Maybe they got in line sooner.
