PS Audio AirLens

It is on mine too. It’s interesting that on the same page it states ‘Firmware is the latest version.’ I think that would imply that the FW does update automatically through M connect. Am I correct?

Guys, I use this very thing to get Ethernet to where mu audio system is. I live in a house built in 1972/3. There was no such thing as Ethernet cable back then. I would of had to make a run of over 100 feet and drill a hole from a family room ceiling through the main floor in the great room ( which is hard wood flooring ) to get from the WiFi router that my ISP supplies. After running a 75 foot cable from the WiFi Router to my TV in the family room ( the same floor as the router ), my wife said NO to the a cable going upstairs.

Mine found the ISP router right away. It plugs directly into the outlet ( there is no power cord ), mine is actually on the floor in an outlet extensi0on unit. It works really well.

Hi, that was my experience - when Mconnect first saw the AirLens it flagged an update was available and I believe it asked me to ok that and off it went.

My WIFI does not support WPS, and my airlens is connected via ethernet.

During the beta period, I worked with a tech at PSA as an experiment to see if I could get the Airlens connected to my WIFI. I was told that if I placed a file with the correct name and the SSID and password to my Wi-Fi network on a USB drive and placed it into the USB port on the back, I should be able to get it to accept the WIFI config and connect.

Please note: I purposely omitted some details on the steps above as I don’t think it is my place to divulge exactly how this is supposed to work.

Unfortunately, I could never get it to work, and PSA announced general availability before I could take this to it’s logical conclusion. I have not tried to pursue it any further since then. After all, I am connected via ethernet.

For those who are paying attention and understand that WIFI does not work when ethernet is plugged in, I disconnected the ethernet cable before attempting to get the Airlens to connect to WIFI using this method.

So, I recommend contacting PSA to get clarification on this question before wasting any time trying the unit out.

Could you find out something about it in the meantime?

Thanks for your reply. I ran across another possibility on a forum for setting up printers that use WPS, and it was to take an old router that does support WPS, get the device (AirLens) set up on the network and then take out the old router.

Thanks again!

Interesting trickery. Please let us know if it works.

Does the AirLens have equalization or digital room correction functionality?

Neither.

Yup, no coffee maker, popcorn popper or beer chiller, either! :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Me too!

That’s a most sensible idea by PSA - I expect it is a bit finicky about the exact file format (and maybe even the type of Carriage Return codes used).

Just got word from our engineering manager and confirmed that when you plug an Ethernet cable into the AirLens it automatically shuts off WiFi.

No, it does not.

I does not update automatically. Do check to make sure.
