Maybe I missed it, but I didn’t see any hint of this coming at AXPONA. Very odd they held it back. ![]()
When I stream I stream directly with my Zenith, no attached streamers. Sorry, lacking experience with that sort of set-up I can’t be of much assistance.
Surprised me as well. They held their cards very close at Axpona, touting the upcoming Statement Version II, and that was about it. I spoke with Joao and Kevin yesterday, and he did not mention it either.
I know you mentioned that you’re using the Reclocker usb, It seems they upgraded the Sense app to facilitate the Pulse line. Impressive hardware lineup complimenting the servers. The Sense app continues to be the added value.
The Sense app is very good. It is not buggy and certainly fast loading. It makes all the sense in the world that Paul and company are using Innuos gear.
Little help please:
I am under the impression the Airlens will have an I2S out to go into an I2S in of the Directstream DAC.
I am also under the impression this will play pure DSD.
With the Airlens being just a streaming devise, and my Roon core will be on MacBook Pro w/ HQPlayer will the Airlens still be able to play pure DSD and not DOP?
If the Mac converts all DSD to DOP how can we stream pure DSD using I2S?
Thank You,
Steve08226
By using DoP - it is an encapsulation of the data only, does not affect the content ![]()
Yup, PCM at 384kHz can pack in DSD128 as DoP and nothing gets lost. DSD128 gets unpacked in the DAC. So twice the normal SACD DSD64. If you are into higher DSD levels though, then, yeah, hopefully the AirLens spec will support over I2S. I understand the present DS DAC runs DSD256 internally. So hopefully PS Audio will support that with the AirLens via I2S. As I understand it, though, the PS Audio philosophy is that going even higher means more jitter.
Thank you!
Do we know if there are any OCXO / VCXO clocks in this thing?
I’m hoping it has a Timex. ![]()
Hey everyone at PSA, got a AirLens suggestion, can you make NYA (neil young archive) part of the integration in the app? The last time I checked NYA is not yet integrated into Roon meaning Roon users have to do a work around to listen to the true HR files NYA offers. NYA is currently integrated into the BlueSound app and it sounds fantastic. I can’t speak for any other apps as I don’t have any experience using them. I’m sure it won’t be make or break for anyone but it sure would be nice. Thanks! (Also apologies if this is covered somewhere on this thread, I have only been able to skim it so far. )
The PSA Application development was abandoned. It is now just a endpoint hardware device.
Best to be asking Roon forum for this.
Hi everyone, any new updates on the Airlens? Anyone? Its been real silent around here.
Would be interesting if it has better chance to finish than DS Mk II actually due to support of parts.
Paul replied to me in a earlier post and stated it will come out before the MKII but we have no idea how sooner.
Coming along nicely. Big holdup right now is Apple (Airplay). They have to send a team out to do an audit of the company before they will authorize us to become Apple certified (don’t ask). So we wait. Once we get certified then we’ll be pretty much done with alpha. If the parts pandemic doesn’t bite us again, we might see beta units arriving in July.
Sounds good (in case you got an audit plan to prepare). Would be interesting what they look at.
Fingers crossed!
How great is this?! Thanks Paul for the update and hope I get one of those beta units😁
