Elk lets just move on. I expressed my point and I did point at you just a conceptual idea as to why it may happen.

Organization was never my strong point but I do like it. I just pay others to make it happen. Maybe if you find out who it is I can send them a check Hahahahah

but I am possesive and someone taking possession of my posts does get me thinking primal. Like someone is touching my food or personnel stuff. Maybe this can be understood for all who find it funny. It’s all good here let’s just move on and thanks for replying and trying to explain. Also you should know I am not alone in feeling possessive of there posts here. Although I did not post to them.

Food for thought

Al

I imagine everyone feels a certain ownership of their posts. This is one reason I try to be completely transparent as to what I do and why.

We also all need to remember that everything we post has an impact on everyone who reads the Forum.

Al, I think you did a great job expressing your feelings! I can relate to a lot of the things you said, but I generally keep my mouth shut because it can get me in trouble. Sometimes (many times?) what people say on forums is taken out of context. I’m not sure if I read it here or somewhere else, but there should be a sarcasm emoticon. The subtleties of human language can certainly be lost when written, I know I have trouble writing it and getting the “drift” of what others are writing. Al, please keep being yourself, you are a bright spot on this forum!

I would also say that Elk has done a good, no great, job of walking the fine line of keeping the peace and not using excessive force. Being the moderator of a forum has to be one of the more thankless volunteer jobs.

How can you state a fact and then just ignore it. Kind of like taking someone’s car and leaving a note where ypu parked it .

Thats just crazy. So I’ll jut kept misplacing my posts so ypu have plenty to do.

I’m sorry, Al, but you lost me this time.

I agree. Elk has been doing a great job and it’s a tough one to do. I think this has been aired well enough and it’s time to move on.

Al’s a valued member of our community and we all love reading his posts. Keep up the great work sirs!

A big +1 Keep posting, Al!

+1 and I am proud to state that with the help of my decoder ring, I can decipher most of his codes. :?>]]

As far as “housekeeping” [still an ongoing topic?] I can relate, having moderated here for 3 years, to the “occasional” need for a tidy-bowl intervention. Although rare, I used to send a pm to the “involved” party with a reminder of forum etiquette or procedures as I hoped that this was less inhibiting and encouraged more postings by shyer members as well as being invisible to the general reading population.

Just a suggestion but everyone has their own style.

+1 And does this mean you’re back G, or just logging in from a distance? (If the former, great to have you back and we’ve missed you).

We are extremely lucky to have had two outstanding forum leaders. Let’s hope Elk can put up with it (us) at least as long as Gordon did.

As you repeatedly keep telling us, even when inapplicable. :) (It is however a fine approach. I employ it when appropriate.)

Al politely raised a concern publicly. He, and everyone else, deserved a transparent public response.

By way of background, only one post of Al’s was moved. His post on quoting was moved from another thread to here (along with mine and Frode’s) so as not to muck up an audio related thread. Given the subsequent activity here this was clearly a good call.

Unless there is something new to address, let us shut this one down. I think we have more than covered it.

Hello Gordon.

Hooe all is well. There is no point in trying to make some understand what they do not agree to period. Moving makes them feel it’s more organized it’s an ocd thing I think. While I like organization I just do not see how it applies here. But that’s me and we all know I am the odd man here so again it’s me causing this Hahhaaha.

But thanks for commenting and elk thanks for making our posts feel safe

I am indeed “back” after 3 months and a very long flight. [flying ain’t what it used to be}.
I too have missed everyone.

Looks like ELK is doing a fine job, as I knew he would.
Our Forum community leaders as well as some of our more recent members have been sharing and posting some great info and experiences, all of which I continue to enjoy immensely. It is fun to now enjoy the forum as an inmate rather than the Warden. :>}}

Welcome back Gordon and we have missed you. Elk is indeed doing a wonderful job and I thank Gordon for his recommendation of Elk as the leader of our ragged bunch of music loving audiophiles.

“Howard was very sick, and I asked him if he was worried about crossing over. He said, ‘I’m only worried about one thing. What am I going to say to Bach?’”
Patty Roberts quoting her husband Howard.
