Remote Control for PSA and Grimm (or others)

I have the stock fuse in my MU2 to protect the M-2 fuse in its box.

I have 3 M-2 fuses in their boxes, two devices with stock fuses that need not be.

2024.7 where is Al on fuses update

(Or are they M-1s? I don’t care)

Would that I could get that cool looking remote without having to also get the Gryphon. Might be affordable that way.

Now that I see it, though, the input buttons are too close to the volume buttons. I’ve been known to make that mistake, resulting in a complete loss of sound. “Now, which input is the right one?”

Even with separate buttons for each input problems occur. Two of my devices require computers to access them as they have hundreds of options. It seems silly.

That remote looks a lot cooler than Logitech’s; it looks expensive too. Legitech’s looks like my $9 one😆

I really wonder if AM/SR fuses will improve MU2. The fuse business is strange because after awhile they all sounded like stocks. The only difference I heard with them are two: Master seem to hurt (in the wrong device) and M2 does improve SQ.

A few months back I put an AM M2 fuse in the MU2, P20, and the CDT3-MK3 player, at the same time, same direction. I felt a bump. I thought it justified the cost. Same as when I moved from SR Purple to AM M1 in the P20,

Still have a AM M1 6.3a for the P20 if anyone interested, $130.

Thanks! Good to know.

Nailed it!

But if only remote controls affected sound quality…

Dependent on tuning ring placement IME.

Not having to sift thru a dozen remotes does enhance my listening enjoyment.

To confirm, 1A, fast, 5x20mm for MU2 right? I just love AM M-2 fuse more than any other fuses. This will be my fourth.

Correct. The fuse holder actually has two fuses. One is a spare. Had to test it out to make sure, no mention in manual. I guess I don’t speak European.:upside_down_face:

Grimm MU2 runs quite warm. Unlike MK2 while the back bottom is quite warm (mine has APS mod), MU2 is warm everywhere. Is this normal for other owners too?

My AM M-2 fuse is ordered and it should be here next week; right around the time of finishing break in. I called that good timing.

Yes, mine runs warm too. I do leave it on all day and so far everything is fine.

Ditto. Warm everywhere but not a concern.

Concur. Mine runs warm on the top (I don’t go feeling around the bottom).

I’ve taken to putting it in stand-by mode most nights when I go to bed, but lately I unplug it completely as we’re in monsoon season here in North Carolina.

Mine is actually playing 24/7/365.

I am playing on average 10 hours per day, but I put MU2on standby at night. It takes usually 20 minutes to sound good, but that could be due to M1200 amps too since they have input tubes in them. PST/MK2 took longer time to warmup, but I only play them a couple of hours per day now (not because they do not sound as good, but because I am learning Roon).

I am getting familiar with Roon and MU2 controls through iPad. It is quite fun but I think I need a larger iPad now to read better.

Cannot wait for the SSD arrival. Sean said I need to handle four screws, and I do have screw drivers in different sizes.
