Is there not a way to reset my new PS Audio Diract Stream Mk2 DAC to its original factory settings? On my freshly unboxed DAC I made a stupid mistake with the initial on-screen settings and now have it set for fixed 100% volume, but have no preamp! So, been messing with that hopelessly difficult DAC menu system with directional arrows etc trying to set the volume to zero or off, but finding that path seems an impossible task! Surely there must be a way to reset to original factory settings? What am I missing? Furthermore, with my rummaging with the on screen arrows I fear I have compounded my problem with more inadvertent resets. Frustrated beyond belief! Please help me get rid of that 100% fixed volume setting!
This is from the manual which I assume you have?
Anyway, it reads as follows:
Factory Reset (sub-menu)
This feature allows you to reset all of the configuration settings back to what they were
when the DirectStream MK2 was shipped from the factory. Any custom input names, trim
levels, Wi-Fi networks, or any other settings you have made will be erased. Press the center
button on the control ring to enter this sub-menu and follow the prompts
I have been searching through the maze of menus to find that “Factory Reset” menu and after spending way too much time I still have not found such an entry. Can you be more specific. Sure, the manual says such a feature exists; maybe so, but not very helpful if the menu tree is complicated and near impossible to navigate and
find. I have not been able to find it. I did find a 100 display which I attempted to change to another setting, but no changes were available. Frustrated!
Look it up in the manual. It is easy, just follow the directions.
OK, there is a lot more good explanation in the Owner’s Manual. Too bad PS Audio didn’t include the Owner’s Manual with my shipment. Only got the two-page Quick Start guide. Initially tried to make that be sufficient and that got me into trouble.
The full manual is much better.
Are you all set now?
