Got an email invitation to try out a new Roon feature yesterday. it said:
“Roon Drop; you pick the exact moment in a song that gets you, pair it with an image or a lyric, and publish it. That’s a Drop. Short-form music discovery shaped by people who actually listen — not an algorithm guessing in the dark.”
I am not going to engage in this, but curious to hear your thoughts and if you’ve looked into it.
Saw that too. Another angle of Roon Radio. maybe once people start building up “drops” you can follow and have that as a radio station. Could be cool if it catches on. Would be more interesting if qobuz and or tidal start doing something like that. bigger audiences for building and following.
I was given an invite a few weeks ago. I’m not interested in being a ‘contributor’, or whatever they called it.
My only social media involvement is here, Roon, MyChart, and the Kroger’s bulletin board.
That might be a good angle, but I doubt it is going to be that useful.
This is the perfect amount of grumpy! I love it and feel much the same.
Just what we all need: more notifications to fuel device addiction.
I am so looking forward to a future without Roon.
