Roon no longer sees my DSJ

With a Windows machine, its fairly easy to try a different version of the Bridge II software on the DSJ. You could revert to an older version and see how that goes, and switch back to the latest and see what happens. Not sure of your system’s in house geographical arrangement, but many believe the Bridge II is a step down in sound quality from I2S or USB, so this snafu could be a blessing in disguise for you.

Calling PSA may also be wise as they will know more about this than anyone.

Yeah I will give that a try. The main reason I bought a DSJ is for the streaming functionality of the Bridge to access my FLAC collection on my PC, which is also running roon core. Well also to upgrade me DAC of course. I do not have the luxury of using the I2S or the USB input since my PC is just too far away from the DAC.

I will give PS Audio a call.

I just debriefed the fellas here so if you catch one of them on the phone soon, they’ll know a bit of what you’ve tried. They were both quite confused when I told them what you were working with…

Hi James,

I appreciate it. I just spoke to TJ and he’s going to send me another Bridge II to install. He thinks that the Bridge got semi-corrupted and the internal name may have changed, which is why Roon can no longer detect it. Or something to that effect!

Yeah, pretty weird. He just clued me in. You did a good job of describing it. My understanding is that with the name it may have now, ROON just doesn’t know that it’s a ROON ready device.

Thanks for calling in and I’m glad we got you squared away!

My issue isn’t about Roon not seeing it, the DSJ doesn’t see the bridge.

when I got home today Spotify stopped working as well! I guess it was only a matter of time.

Odd, I am listening to Roon play through my DSD Jr… I powered the Jr. down for hours, held the front power button when I switch on the rear power button, this time the reset worked. Joy. No need to call I guess. Now I am updating the bridge. Doh. Kuhl, that worked as well.

Never mind I guess. lol

Hi James,

I was wondering if you could follow up with the team at PS Audio. TJ told me that my replacement bridge was shipped it out last month, but I have yet to receive it.

Thanks,
Shahram

Yes absolutely. I’ll chat with him in a sec and get back. Standby

Just checked with TJ and he mentioned our techs are getting the kit put together. Sorry about the delay on this one, but our team is moving on it. Shoot him a quick email tomorrow for an update. Thanks

Hi James,

Shot TJ a note a couple days ago but still have not gotten a response. It would be helpful to at least get an ETA from someone. My streaming has been down nearly a month, which is the main way i listen to music.

I emailed you back, how odd. I wonder if I went to spam. Figured you’d see this one for sure!

Anyways, it looks like we were waiting on new Bridge modules and I believe they’ve arrived, so I’ll be overnighting this and you should see it tomorrow.

So sorry for the delay and apparent lack of communication. Let me know if you need help with the install.

That is wierd. I’m not finding any of the communication. Anywho, thanks for the update. I appreciate you staying on this.

Weird, I agree! It happens every now and then. I blame our server

Let me know how it goes!

Hi TJ,

I have bad news. I plugged in the new Bridge Module, which was much easier this time around. I plug it all back in and now my DSJ wont turn on at all. I followed all the procedures and used the the grounding wrist strap…what on earth could have gone wrong???

Remove the Bridge entirely and see if it turns on after that. That’s odd.

Ok I will try that tonight.

Im going through everything I did and I might have pulled the power chord out before flipping the off switch on the DSJ. Whats the worst that could happen in that scenario?

I don’t think that would do anything bad. Try the forceload I’m sending to your email too.
