SGCD Display Question

Quick question:

When does the display on a SGCD display the input source information versus the volume level? Is there a way to have it automatically default to the source information? Mainly I’m trying to figure out when it is playing DSD files vs having Roon or my DAC (Cambridge CXNv2) convert it to something vs pass it through as DoP data. (If there are many questions here, I apologize. I don’t fully understand the signal path…thus the confusion on my part.)

Thanks,

Hi Mike - I also have an SGCD and when it plays DSD (in my case over DoP) it says DSD64 or DSD128 to the left of the volume level. I think even when I used to play native DSD it did the same thing. For other sources it usually says PCM and the sample rate. Does this answer your question ? Ciaran in Ireland.

Sir,

Thank you. It sort of answers it except mine never seems to display anything but the volume numbers. Which is the source of my confusion. I’m guessing that the source isn’t sending what I think it’s sending. Guess I need to keep fiddling with things. Thanks for the response. It helps.
