I don’t follow him but since I search a lot of audio topics on youtube he always pops up and he has a lot of @aangen gear that I have noticed as of late.
Choices
Next thing we’ll view a rabbit hoping around in front of the speakers.
That is for the other thread, how far is the bunny in front of the speakers, or how far is the bunny behind the speakers.
The bunny has gnawed its way into the speakers seeking Ella Fitzgerald.
Congrats! I love mine!
And now I am ordering a MK2 dabnabbit
It’s a fantastic combo for SACD. I wasn’t really that excited (though I collected them) about SACD until the DMP and DSD and now PST and DSD II. Now the sound is fantastic.
I agree with Lonson 100%. I kinda dragged my feet upgrading to both the PST and the MkII, but now my CD/SACD collection has never sounded better. No regrets whatsoever and that was well before the Massive update.
ok, made a move because it was such a low-risk venture.
Really want to hunt down a Luxman, but just can’t justify the cost at this point.
So, a guy locally had this Yamaha CD-S2100 SACD player on Craiglslist, initially for $1800. I’d emailed him to ask some questions, and we had a nice back-n-forth. He eventually emailed me back that he’d lowered it to $1500. Then he emailed me to say he was gonna put it on Audiogon.
Fast forward a month or so, and it was still on Audiogon for $1100. I shot him a note and offered him $1000. We landed at $1050 – for a $3000 disc spinner.
Great guy and visit, and turns out we knew a bunch of the same people from back in the day.
Anyway, it does sound nice. (Unit was much deeper than I planned for. Had to extend the depth of the shelf by three inches!)
I was hoping to see somone post a pic of their huge ceramic brake disc with yellow calipers…
even with the new direction of this thread i have not lost interest
It might turn into a coffee thread too, be aware (Vince?).
I, too, got a good deal on the Yamaha CD-S2100 player. I’m pleased with the sound. The gloss piano black sides are truly beautiful, although in my rack I can’t see them hahahahaha. The inside is a work of art, and isolation, too.
yeah, my stuff is in a closet, so I have to stand in there to see anything. Which I do sometimes. It’s a nice – albeit small – place to be.
When i was doing a little research on this model, there were a few people out there on the audio forums who’d had some issues. Either a tray that didn’t work properly, or it didn’t recognize some discs, etc… But no problems so far.
The one I now own was built in 2014. 10 years ago. Crazy.
