I would expect the Fidelium to be slightly warmer, and offering better mid-bass/upper bass. Iconoclast thins out the bass slightly IME.
You could be right. I should receive it within two weeks, and hopefully PZ will arrive before that🙏
I hate to say it because I think the people of Iconoclast are top notch but this is your systems weak link imo. I’ve heard them in my system and several others and they are easily bested by other cables that don’t cost significantly more.
I also concur with Rick bass lacks authority in my experience with that cable.
Interesting, I’ll find out in a couple of weeks.
If you are getting the Fidelium XLR’s I’ll be curious in your findings! Also, where do you buy them? I see nothing about XLR’s on their website.
Jeff will reply your email from the website contact. He has not officially released the IC yet. The same thing happened with his speaker cables when they were first introduced. I don’t know why.
He has been working on the ICs for the last three years, I believe. So far the reviews have been very positive.
Yes I’ve read good things. @audiojan who I purchased my Diablo 300 from has a pair and spoke highly about them.
I just ran into a YouTube review from “the audio analyst” e188. I have never heard of this guy before. Guess what is his reference IC? Stealth Sakura was mentioned😆
He spoke highly of Fidelium not sure if it was the speaker cables only in the review. The Sakra is near impossible to beat imo.
Now I am glad putting an order in, it will be very interesting to see how it does.
Thank you dchang05 for that link to YouTube audio analyst e188. He pretty much confirmed my assessment of the Fidelium balanced interconnects after they are burned in. He had the advantage with an actual cable cooker unit which simplified the job. I will continue with my low tech use of the XLO Burn-in CD, it’s nice to get confirmation that I was not imagining the improvement.
Oooh, my cable cooker is going to get busy!! I’ve decided to get two sets for full loom - DAC to BHK pre then Pre to BHK300s, to match my Fidelium speaker cables !
That’s Greg Weaver - I bought the Fidelium speaker cables after watching his review of them. Thanks for pointing me to his IC review as well.
Right at the end, he gives the Stealth Sakra V17s a slight edge. The V17s are made of unobtainium for me, but the Fideliums are coming to my home!!
Bravo
, you will not regret this decision.
2 months in, amazing XLRs! And amazing speaker cables - Talk to Jeffrey about his T-biwire also
Another user’s review
Okay that’s enough, going to have to try these cables. After reading the Audio Style review it sounds like the wire being used in the XLR’s might be an upgrade to the wire being used in the speaker cables, so I’m wondering if there will be a new version coming out soon?
From what I understand talking to Jeff, it’s not so much that it’s a upgrade to the material (there’s a difference), but rather that it lends itself extremely well to the lower signal levels of the interconnects. The material wouldn’t perform as well as a speaker cable so I don’t think we should expect a “version 2”.
I would rather see a phono cable and maybe down the road a power cable.
… and the interconnects are absolutely INCREDIBLE! As awesome as the speaker cable is, the interconnects blows my mind. I have no idea how Jeff does it, but I’m sure glad he does!
I’ve placed both the Fidelium speaker cables in my system tonight. Borrowed from @minnesotafats thank you. Very impressed so far. I also connected the Fidelium XLR cables. Good but I’m giving them some time since they are new. The bar is set extremely high so we will see what is to come.
