Sneak Peek: FR-30, now FR-80

I am happy to state that we still have a record store where we live. Hope the store can survive. One of the reasons I stay away from streaming, that store holds enough gems of music, such that I have the feeling I can explore it my entire life without digging till the end. And the nice thing, you meet people.

It’s not that long since I’ve sold part of my plates 13000 pieces … only a little over 3000 left … lol

Now that the audio shows have been postponed, will you release the speakers online, or wait until the next show

The speakers aren’t projected to be released to the market until after both AXPONA and RMAF. Many will have the opportunity to hear the speakers at these shows and here at the factory before official launch.

Thanks for your prompt reply, being in the UK I suppose it will be September or October before they can be seen here.

As I like to call 'em - Schrodinger’s Sprechers.

As long as you don’t open the box, they exist in any state you can imagine :cowboy_hat_face:

I have a photo of one of the FR-30’s in my living room. Does that mean they exist?

It means a photo of the cabinet exists, for sure.

I try to imagine how it would end if the design of a car was discussed before its release…

This commonly occurs, unless I do not understand what you mean.

I mean how much there would be to talk about and criticize and try to influence with a car‘s design if it was introduced by the manufacturer before release (not just shaded prototype paparazzi shots)…and how much discussion simply doesn’t take place because a car usually is suddenly just there as it is.

That commonly occurs.

Yeah - we are a big free Focus Group here, giving input on the Exterior Design. Many seem to think everybody at PS is driving the thing home every day.

Typically for cars, the FG people will be told, “This is a possible Exterior Design for the 2022 Model”. Nobody thinks it has a motor in it. Well, I take that back. People often would say about a design they liked, “Can I drive that home today?” And they would be disabused of the notion that it had a working engine in it. However convincing the prototype appeared.

Shh, what did we tell you? People aren’t supposed to know there are two Pauls out there help with the speakers.

I should have used a title “Thanks James for sending a pair of the FR-30 speakers for testing, they look and sound great” which would have resulted in you getting tons of phone calls and emails

We had an interesting prototpye car to work on a few years ago. It had 4 different corners spliced onto a body in white. It had a drivers seat and no other interior upholstery. There were about 4 computer type recording devices and a whole lot of sensors. Very interesting from any angle.

That would hav been an act of pure evil.

I apologize if this has been answered previously, but here goes:

So FR-30 will be likely released near end of year at earliest (since RMAF in Oct and James said “after both”).

My question is as to the model that is one step less expensive than FR-30 (I don’t know if that one has a name yet). Is that model (one step down) going to require a lot of additional time to release, or will it be similar enough to FR-30 that it’s release shouldn’t be expected to be that far behind?

Or is it still too early to know? Thanks

PS (sorry), is the target price of that model around $10k?

Too early to know any of that.

Fair enough, thanks

Yeah, badbeef is right. Much too early to know. When in doubt, expect things to take more time.
