Only some I2S devices seem to cause a problem. Pink Faun PCI I2S boards are OK, no problem remaining connected during update.
@bootzilla Did your Matrix have to be disconnected to update?

Haven’t attempted it, yet. May try in the AM. Leaving the Matrix connected did not present a problem with Snowmass V1.
I have the original Bridge in the DAC and not the Bridge II. I downloaded Snowmass V2 without incident, or so I thought. Discovered that when I switched the input to the Bridge that the remote no longer worked and neither did the touchscreen.
So, reloaded Snowmass V1 and both the remote and touchscreen are functioning again.
When will Snowmass be available for DSJ?
Maybe next week.
V2 is working great for me. Fixed my problem with Vol. rolling over from 101 > 1, Fixed my problem when on Bridge input and not being able to turn off DAC,… Fixed my problem with NEVER being able to set vol above 100 when in ‘Low’ mode, would always roll over to 1. The fixed Vol. mode is a nice touch as well. Thanks @Paul and team!
Still shooting for next week.
Playing Roon+Tidal MQA.The MQA indicator does not turn green as it did with 3.00.
Cover art takes 10-20 sec to come up and one time no cover art until I forwarded to the next track.I tried more MQA albums and still no green light. This is with Roon+Tidal.Sound wise it is still great as before👍.
Just for the record my above posts are not complaints.I’m only posting what I have experienced so far😊.
Understood, your observations and comments are helpful and appreciated.
Updated to Snowmass v2 last night. Install seemed to go smoothly but Bridge II showed as “None” after the OS was updated. Had to power cycle the DS three times to get the Bridge II firmware version 3.6.17 to appear (admittedly, my I2S device was connected and powered on the whole time). All seems good now – and album cover art seems more reliable – except now the MQA indicator goes out in the middle of a track with virtually any touchscreen interactions.
Updated just an hour ago or less. Glad I didn’t read about the Bridge not showing up for some. I would have waited. I was in no mood for anything to go sideways tonight. Just wanted to listen to music and get my buzz on.
Luckily, no issues. I like the the album art not switching between songs with the same art. That worked lots of versions ago and now it’s back…yay! Seems silly to care but I do.
Edit: Album Art still does not survive data rate or file format changes
Edit 2: Album Art is a mess with a playlist. One problem solved and another created. That’s PS Audio and album art.
Edit 3: The claimed album art bug fix, switching between songs with the same art, is not consistently solved. There are cases where it still changes. Don’t know what the conditions might be. Seems random at this point.
Hi,
There are two types of MQA indication, green or blue.

Upgraded to Snowmass V2 without any issues. Firmware is 3.04 and Rev is now 0304. Everything else is the same.
These are the steps I took.
Hi,
I have the same configuration.
Tried to update with snowmass V2 form redcloud today.
Same issue : remote control, touch screen and front panel switch button won’t operate after first music feed.
Plus big crack sound at power off…(had to tuern off power amp before attempting other trials)
I’m back to redcloud for now.
I can provide more info. to help.
Regard
Hi Francois,
Your timing is perfect. For the heck of it I tried going from Snowmass V1 to V2 just a few minutes ago. This time, for whatever reason, everything went smoothly. The volume level resets to 25 which I increased to 100. Both the remote and the touchscreen now work properly and I’m getting cover art when using JRiver MC 24.
Not sure why it didn’t work properly the first time around but this second loading of V2 seems to have done the trick.
Regards,
Joe
Just verified functionality. I have no PSA BHK Preamp so using the variable volume level. I will be picking up my BHK Preamp next year and appreciate the switch added. In addition, the SQ has not changed. Thanks PSA!
Hi Joe,
Just retried this morning - same issue
Back to redcloud till V3…
Congrats to the team anyway, it’s great to have those new firmware brought regularly to our beloved Dac…
Regards,
François
Have exactly the same problem as Joe and Francois. I am also using Bridge 1 so that appears to be the common factor. Basic sequence of events as follows:
Upgraded from Snowmass V1 to V2.
Set max volume to 75 (touchscreen still responsive).
Went back to Home screen and started to play music (streamed from NAS).
Touchscreen and remote no longer respond but music continues to play ok.
Reverted back to Snowmass V1, then everything worked ok.
Tried upgrade for a second time, but same issue so have reverted to Snowmass V1 again (which sounds fabulous by the way, so very grateful to Ted, Paul and everyone else at PSA who made this possible).
