The 64 Tap Sequencer reminds me of a ladder dac

Happy Birthday! From physically looking at the insides with my own eyes from a build quality stand point the new box and inner workings are far superior to anything in the Stellar lineup imo. Far superior to anything in perfectwave!

It was so fun being with you all yesterday. What fun! Thanks for all you do supporting our community!

Was anything mentioned about whether the MK2 DAC will receive any evolutionary FPGA updates in the future? If Ted is no longer in the mix and the new approach is ASIC-centric, it wouldn’t appear likely. I hope I’m wrong.

Check out Axpona 2025 thread. Paul # 271! DSD-MKII dead in the water…no more new firmware upgrades. Not good!

Is Ted no longer with PS, or just not involved with this project, which was clearly started while he was around and doing updates ?

That’s a big let down to those who purchased the DSD MkII with the understanding there would be incremental updates along the way.
Hopefully there will be a generous trade in offer for those who wish to jump ship.

The trade in is listed clearly on the webpage as $2125.00 so no need to guess or speculate.

I would imagine most would end up selling the DSD MkII vs trading it in.

What would you assume the selling price point to be (vs. trade-in)?
Trying to run the numbers and come up with a game plan for myself.

That certainly doesn’t bode well for a economical path from the MKII to the new DAC but hopefully after the glow for the new one fades a bit there will be a “sale” that would make the upgrade path more reasonable for those of us not made of money. In the meantime my MKll continues to sound great. Was counting on those firmware updates to keep the MKII current, as promised. It’s kind of a bummer for us MKll owners and definitely tapers my enthusiasm for the new line.

Not sure. If it was a current model half the retail price, but it’s no longer a current model, and the promise of future updates is no longer.

Yeah I tried same. Not happy about that. I hope they do the same pay it forward they did with MKI owners to MKII.

Does not answer my question.

Answer was get it right the first time. No updates needed. Great answer.

Those big caps inside the preamp… yum… looks and probably sounds juice!

RIP DSD mk2 and TSS.
Not surprising after the disastrous reviews of the mk2 in Stereophile (sound and measurements) and Hi Fi News (measurements).
Great decision to get a new team, Paul !

I will miss Ted, and the future updates. Let’s see how the reviews do with the new PMG lines.

The PMG line has only sources, so is it possible that PSA will be (has been) working on the next gen. of amps? I am more interested in that, and I will wait for a year for upgrade anyway (good timing ).

when the DS2 came out PS offered a larger trade in on the DS1 for the first month or two…

do we actually know that Ted is no longer with PS and that there will be no more DS2 updates ?
