Speaker Cable Recommendations

Interesting that you’re bi-wiring with the MG Audio speaker cables, which the manufacturer recommends against.
I’m also bi-wiring, but I’m using one run of Planus II, and a second run of Acrotec.
I was quite surprised how much better my speakers sounded when I bi-wired them, despite MG Audio’s suggestion against doing so.

Actually, I had an eight foot set of Planus 3, the manufacturer made them into 2 sets of 4 feet, and, said that biamping with them at that length was going to work wonderfully, which, I can confirm!
I’d recommend bi wiring with 2 runs of the same cable.

Bi wiring to maggies?

Gary_M is bi wiring to whatever his speakers are. Pretty sure they are not maggies.LOL

There were some maggie’s that could be bi wired. 3.6r I think was one

If you have the room for the Maggies and a couple of subs! Highly recommended!

Correct. not Maggie’s. Von Schweikert VR 35’s.

I have some BlueJeans cables now, Belden 5000UE.
For Maggies, are there any cables available for a reasonable price (<$200-400) that would offer a substantive increase in performance?

How long do they need to be? Check out the 12 gauge Dueland wire from Parts Connexion or Audio Sensibility. With the Dueland you can run it with bare ends like the recommend or terminate it yourself.

Current ones are 6 ft, but I think I need a bit longer.

You can make two meter pairs of the Dueland 12 gauge for $159 with bare ends and if you don’t want bare ends buy these or the equivalent spades for $15 or so.

The are also very good but the price is for one cable so double it.

What’s the deal with Dueland? Why are they particularly good?

They are just a smooth relaxed sound and a big favorite among the owners of Tannoy and Avantgarde speaker. Based on the Western Electric cables from years past.
