That’s not been my experience. After break-in I thought our Focal Sopra 2 were a bit bright. Since then I’ve rolled both Pre and Amp tubes, changed power and speaker cables, and went from a P10 to a P20. I am pretty sure that every time I’ve replaced speakers, something needed tweaking.
My experience with the A7 is they have been endlessly tweak-able. Anything I do changes the sound.
I think for some people, this process is fun.
For others, I think this process is maddening.
Not that it’s black and white, it can be both.
I think the D7 for me, would be a speaker that would provide endless ability to tweak, and thus a fun speaker to own.
Cheers
I disagree as well. New gear can certainly soften with break-in. Another way to tame brightness is to toe-out slightly so converge 3 ft behind listening position if initially have speakers aimed at ear.
You’re lucky you don’t have to deal with earthquakes.
Yes - they are a PiA. Getting the speakers properly aligned with the top platform is a real challenge while the tripod format is not the most stable. Wish I had sprung the extra $$ for the Sound Anchors…
